Feeling stuck with your writing?

Maybe you’ve lost momentum. Maybe life has got in the way. Or maybe somewhere between deadlines, responsibilities, work, housework, and everything else that needs doing, writing has slowly slipped further and further down the list.

Sometimes you don’t need another productivity trick.
Sometimes you just need to get away from everything else for a while.

That’s a big part of why I added the retreat option to AuthorFest this year.
Four days in the peaceful French countryside where somebody else cooks the meals, there’s nowhere you need to rush off to, and you’re surrounded by people who understand why spending hours making up imaginary people and their problems is a perfectly reasonable use of your time. 😂

You can learn. You can write. You can talk about books until everyone else would have long since glazed over. You can sit outside with a notebook. You can join us for yoga on Sunday morning, or simply enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.
And perhaps, somewhere in amongst all of that, you’ll remember why you fell in love with writing in the first place.

Your writing deserves this. And so do you.

One of my favourite parts of running events like AuthorFest is adding all the little details that make the weekend feel extra special.

I’ve been disappearing down a Pinterest rabbit hole this evening looking for ideas and... well... I can definitely see some bunting-making in my future. 😂

If you’re coming to AuthorFest, keep your eyes peeled. There’ll be lots of little surprises and hidden extras dotted around the venue for you to discover.

It’s these tiny touches that I absolutely LOVE planning. 😊

Bonus Sunday Yoga Session

AuthorFest isn't all about workshops, ya know? 😊

On Sunday morning, after a weekend full of ideas, inspiration, and conversations, you're invited to slow down with a gentle Yoga for Creativity session led by Helen.

The session is designed to help you stretch, breathe, unwind, and leave feeling refreshed before spending the rest of the day writing, reading, chatting with fellow writers, or simply doing whatever takes your fancy.

It's completely optional and is included for all residential retreat guests, as well as anyone who has booked a one-to-one session with Annalisa or Kate.
