Comment “10” if you want to create more pressure with LESS effort — and save your fingers in the process. 👇
If you’re trying to work the plantar fascia using only your fingers and thumbs… you’re using one of the smallest tools in your body on tissue that can tolerate a LOT more load.
Can it work? Of course.
But is it always the most efficient option? Not even close.
Instead, I like using a larger tool like the tibia.
More surface area.
More leverage.
More pressure without muscular effort.
And most importantly less unnecessary stress on your hands and thumbs.
The goal isn’t to press harder.
It’s to choose a tool that allows you to deliver the right amount of pressure while keeping YOUR body relaxed.
That’s one of the biggest shifts I try to teach therapists:
Stop asking, “How can I push harder?”
Start asking, “How can I create the same result with less effort?”
Your hands are valuable. You have an entire body available to you.
Learn how to use it.
