The birds have vanished down the sky.
Now the last cloud drains away.
We sit together, the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains.

May you flourish proudly and happily on March 7th, 8th… always ♥️

Why does it never occur to us to judge a flower as too large or too small, too vivid in color or too pale, too ordinary or too extravagant?

We recognize instinctively that each one is beautiful, even perfectly in its own way, revealed to the eye free from prejudice and judgment.

Beauty emerges in the encounter between the object and the observer. To truly experience it, we have an important role to play: to enter that encounter with openness, inner freedom and a certain quiet reverence.

Beauty happens, but not if we don’t allow it.

Why, then, should we judge ourselves differently? Aren’t we , only if we allow this judgmental attitude always too big or old, too young or wild, to dry or dependent, to boring or restless… and endless is the list of too much’s…
Or aren’t we, rather, each in our own way, unique moment, just as unique, complex, and extraordinary as the flowers?

The difficulty does not lie in our appearance, our behavior, or our essence. It lies in the categories we create, the borders we draw, the rigid frames into which we attempt to force something inherently fluid, creative, transcendental and magnificent.

Perhaps the task is not to correct ourselves, but to soften the limits through which we see.

Grow, love, play and create fiercely! The only frame is to trust and respect whatever becomes.

Phonocracy

We are living under what could be called a phonocracy—a social order increasingly shaped, mediated, and subtly governed by smartphones.

The most talented engineers, behavioral scientists, and designers of our time are employed not merely to build useful tools, but to optimize attention capture. Infinite scroll, algorithmic reinforcement, personalized feeds, and short-form content are not accidents of design. They are outcomes of deliberate systems built to maximize engagement, often by exploiting well-documented cognitive biases: variable reward schedules, social validation loops, outrage amplification, and confirmation bias.

The result is paradoxical. As our devices become more intelligent—predictive, adaptive, responsive—the cognitive burden shifts. We outsource memory to search engines, orientation to GPS, social validation to metrics, and boredom to algorithmic feeds. Convenience expands. Cognitive effort contracts.

This is not an argument against technological connection. The capacity to communicate globally, access collective knowledge instantaneously, and collaborate across borders is historically unprecedented and deeply valuable. The problem is not connectivity; it is optimization without restraint.

When attention becomes the primary commodity, depth becomes a casualty. Short-form content privileges speed over reflection. Algorithmic filtering reinforces prior beliefs, increasing epistemic skew. Passive consumption replaces active creation. In younger generations especially, one can observe a tension: hyperconnectivity alongside loneliness, constant stimulation alongside diminished tolerance for sustained effort, visibility without necessarily deeper connection. Is this really what we want?

This does not mean younger people are less capable or less creative. It means their cognitive environment is structured differently. Initiative competes with frictionless entertainment. Creativity competes with algorithmic conformity. Action competes with scroll. Discussion with sms-bashing.

A phonocracy does not require coercion. It requires only that the path of least resistance is always the screen. And it is always: the easiest, safest, quickest and infinite.

The question is not whether smartphones are making us “stupid.” That framing is simplistic. The real question is whether a civilization that systematically monetizes attention can preserve depth, autonomy, and meaningful human connection.

Technology amplifies whatever it is optimized to maximize. In today’s attention economy, that often means extracting as much time, focus, and money as possible, in the most efficient and dependancy-forming way available.
