🎂 Join us to celebrate this 20-year anniversary at the Nice Shoulder Course, on June 18-20, 2026!
Twenty years ago, Pr. Pascal Boileau introduced the BIO‑RSA technique, a pioneering approach to reverse shoulder arthroplasty. By using a humeral head bone graft to lateralize the glenoid, BIO‑RSA improves shoulder stability, motion, and reduces scapular notching while maintaining solid fixation. Furthermore, the use of an Angled BIO-RSA allows to correct superior inclination, excessive rétroversion, and lateralize the baseplate and sphere.
What began in Nice as an innovative concept has now spread worldwide, helping surgeons treat complex shoulder pathology with greater confidence and reproducibility. Clinical studies have confirmed its safety, durability, and excellent outcomes, with high graft incorporation (>95%) and low revision rates.
🏄‍♂️ Nice Shoulder Course 2026 celebrates this 20‑year anniversary of BIO‑RSA with a dedicated session revisiting two decades of clinical and radiographic experience. This session will feature:
• BIO-RSA vs. RSA: A Comparative Long-Term Follow-up Study (Gregorio Secci, MD & Pascal Boileau, MD)
• BIO-RSA vs. MIO-RSA: A Radiographic Evaluation using Tomosynthesis (Kazumasa Takayama, MD)
• BIO-RSA: An American Experience (Michael Khazzam, MD)
• Advanced Age and Reduced Bone Density do not Compromise BIO-RSA: A 5-year comparative study (Stefan Bauer, MD)
• Can Surgeons Predict How Much Compensation is Needed to Correct Superior Glenoid Inclination in RSA? (Pascal Boileau, MD & Mark Mouchantaf, MD).
