A recent systematic review published in Nature – Translational Psychiatry explores how Artificial Intelligence can dynamically adapt virtual reality exposure therapy based on each user’s responses.

The goal is to create more personalized experiences by adjusting scenarios according to emotional reactions, anxiety levels, and therapeutic progress.

The combination of AI and immersive technologies could significantly improve engagement and personalization in future mental health interventions.

The scientific evidence supporting virtual reality in mental health continues to grow.

A 2025 review published in Current Psychiatry Reports highlights the effectiveness of Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) for several anxiety-related conditions, including:
