You can eat a whole-food dietā¦
ā¦and still eat foods that arenāt in their natural form.
Somewhere along the way, weāve been taught that āhealthierā means removing something from our food.
The fat.
The yolk.
The skin.
But have you ever stopped to ask yourself why?
For most people, Iād rather see you choose:
š„ Whole milk over skimmed or semi-skimmed milk.
š„£ Full-fat yoghurt over low-fat versions.
š§ Real butter over light spreads.
š³ Whole eggs over egg whites.
š Chicken with the skin on rather than removing it.
š„© Meat in its natural form rather than always choosing the leanest option.
Before removing something, ask yourself whether thereās actually a good reason to.
For most healthy people, choosing foods as close to their natural form as possible is one of the simplest ways to improve overall nutrition.
Nature has been refining food for millions of years. Sometimes, we overcomplicate what was already working.
š Which one surprised you the most?
