Today was all about connection, laughter, and being part of the community

We took some of our lovely ladies over to the Canolfan Cwmaman C C for a game of bingo and refreshments, and what a wonderful afternoon it was!

There was plenty of chatting, smiling, and enjoying time with others, something that is so important for wellbeing.

Moments like these remind us how vital it is to stay connected to the community, to feel included, and to keep doing the things we love.

A massive thank you to all at the Centre keep, up the great work!

And to top it all off… they even had a win at bingo! 🎉

We believe dementia care is about living well, staying active, and creating opportunities for joy every single day.

Today we had the privilege of accompanying one of our residents back to a place filled with memories.

So many hours were spent here, working, building friendships, and creating moments that still hold a special place in the heart.

As we visited, stories were shared of happier times, laughter, and the strong bonds that were made along the way.

Because it’s never just about where someone is now, it’s about honouring where they’ve been and the life they’ve lived. 💙

Hands that once saved lives.
Hands that supported justice.

Hands that worked deep underground so others could come home safely.

Every resident at Cwmaman Care Home has lived a life full of purpose, strength, and love.

Dementia does not take away those stories, those experiences are still there, woven into who they are.

We are proud to honour each person, not just for who they once were, but for who they continue to be.

Every day, we look beyond the diagnosis and see the individual, their history, their achievements, and their heart.

Here in Cwmaman, we hold onto that warm sense of community, where everyone is valued, everyone belongs, and every story matters.

As Dementia Action Week begins, we take a moment to pause and reflect on what truly matters… love, connection, and seeing the person beyond the diagnosis.

Dementia may change memories and abilities, but it never takes away a person’s identity, their life story, or their need to feel valued and understood. Every smile, every hand held, every familiar song, these moments matter more than ever.

At Cwmaman Care Home, we create a warm, welcoming feeling that's just like home. With our strong Welsh roots and community spirit, we focus on knowing each individual, celebrating who they are, and making every day meaningful. It’s not just about care, it’s about belonging.

This week is a reminder to:
