Lovely meeting up with Rachel! Can't wait to start the next COSCA counselling skills course with new students!

Where was Rachel today?

Celebrating Laura's first year teaching the COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland) Certificate in Counselling Skills. We both enjoyed working together with a wonderful group of students, many of whom are now progressing to train to become counsellors. They all improved their listening skills and are using these to be better friends, colleagues and parents.

There are still some places left on the 2026/27 Tuesday evening and Weds morning Certificate groups starting August 11th and 12th.

Details in first comment.

✨ 1,000 Therapy Sessions – A Milestone I'm Truly Grateful For ✨

Today, I'm celebrating an incredible milestone: 1,000 therapy hours completed in my private practice as a therapist.

Each session has been a journey of courage, healing, growth, and hope. I feel deeply honored that so many individuals have trusted me with their stories, challenges, and aspirations.

To each client who has allowed me to walk alongside them, thank you for your bravery and ability to trust me as your therapist.

This milestone isn't just about a number—it's about 1,000 opportunities for my client's to be vulnerable and to work on themselves, and to make progress in their lives.

As I look ahead to the next 1000 hours, I remain committed to providing a authentic, compassionate space where people can heal, grow, and thrive.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey. Here's to many more conversations that make a difference. 💙

I am so proud of each one of my students, as well as of myself in my first year as a tutor. It has been so personally rewarding, and it was described by many of the students as 'life changing'. It has really made me reflect on when I started this course 6 years ago as a student - which definitely feels like a lifetime ago, but also just yesterday!
I am leading 2 more COSCA counselling skills classes next year - Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings.
If you know of anyone interested in developing their use of counselling skills or just wanting to become a better listener, please check out Rowan's website.

⚽ The World Cup and Mental Health: More Connected Than You Think 🧠

Every four years, the World Cup brings people together through passion, hope, excitement, and national pride. For many, it's a time of celebration, connection, and unforgettable memories. For a lot of people, football is more than a sport—it's identity, community, tradition, and belonging.

But what happens when the emotional investment becomes overwhelming?

A team's loss can trigger feelings of anger, sadness, frustration, or even hopelessness. Some fans experience heightened anxiety before matches, disrupted sleep, low mood after defeats, and strained relationships when emotions spill over into everyday life.

Passion is a wonderful part of being a supporter, but your mental wellbeing shouldn't depend on the result of a game.

Ask yourself:
🔹 Does football affect your mood for days after a match?
🔹 Do you feel anxious or stressed leading up to games?
🔹 Has supporting your team started impacting your relationships, work, or daily life?
🔹 Do you struggle to switch off from football-related stress?

Being a loyal fan doesn't mean sacrificing your emotional wellbeing.

The World Cup can also highlight feelings of loneliness for those watching alone, struggling with their mental health, or feeling disconnected from the celebrations around them.

It's okay to care deeply about your club. It's also okay to step back, gain perspective, and prioritise your mental health.

Remember: your worth is not determined by your team's performance.

If football-related stress, anxiety, or low mood is affecting your life, support is available.

💙 Look after your mental health—win, lose, or draw.

As a therapist, I provide a safe, confidential space to help players, coaches, parents, and football fans navigate life's challenges and build emotional resilience.

⚽ Strong mind. Strong game. Stronger life.

🌿Daytime Online Therapy/Counselling Sessions 🌿
I currently have space for new clients during the day on week days.
If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy — or returning to it — this might be the gentle nudge you’ve been waiting for. 💛
I currently have daytime openings for online sessions, perfect for those who:
✨ Work from home and can take a midday break
✨ Prefer a late morning session (from 10am) before the day gets busy
✨ Are stay-at-home parents or caregivers
✨ Simply find daytime therapy more grounding and flexible
Online therapy offers the same depth and connection as in-person work — just from the comfort and privacy of your own space. 🌼
If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change, this is a great time to reach out.
You can message me here or visit my website (lkccounselling.co.uk) to learn more and book a session.
I offer a free 30 minute chat to find out if we both feel we would be a good fit for working together.
I charge £70/€85 per therapeutic hour (50minutes), and can offer flexibility around how often sessions take place. I recommend starting weekly, but after a mutual discussion, this can be reduced to fortnightly, or monthly.
I also offer 2 reduced cost spaces, however, this fill very quickly. This would be 12 sessions at a rate that we agree together based on what feels affordable for you. There would then be the option to continue but at my full rate, but no obligation.

Your time, your pace, your space. 🕊️

🌈 June is Pride Month — a time for celebration, visibility, community, and reflection.
For many LGBTQIA+ people, Pride can hold joy, connection, grief, resilience, healing, and everything in between. Every experience is valid.
As a counsellor working with many Q***r clients, I’m committed to creating a space where you don’t have to explain your identity before being understood — where your experiences, relationships, questions, and challenges are met with respect and care.

This month and every month:
✨ Your identity deserves affirmation
✨ Your story deserves space
✨ Your wellbeing matters

Happy Pride Month to everyone celebrating, questioning, surviving, thriving, and simply being YOU!!

Always great to get feedback after ending with a client!💜💜💜
I work with trans individuals at any stage of their transition - from questioning to coming out to living their normal life in their authentic gender. My work with trans people is similar to how I work with any client; with acceptance and respect. However, it is an area of therapy that I have had a great deal of experience, as well as backing it up with a lot of extra courses/reading. I offer a space where together we can make sense of how you are feeling, and can explore all aspects of your identity and how you view yourself.
I send an anonymous feedback form to all ending clients, and it is their choice if I can use their feedback on my social media.

Always great to get feedback after ending with a client!💜💜💜
One way that I am different from many counsellors/therapists is that I will share bits about myself if I feel it is relevant. I definitely don't make the session about me, but if I feel it will benefit you, I will share bits about myself. For example, I am happy to disclose that I am ADHD and live with BPD, especially if that aligns with what the client is talking about. Sometimes clients then feel less alone, or that I 'get it' from a personal level, rather than just from training or a book. I am also happy for you to ask me questions - if I feel it is appropriate, I will definitely answer honestly. At the end of the day, I am human too!

I send an anonymous feedback form to all ending clients, and it is their choice if I can use their feedback on my social media.

Especially sharing some of your personal experiences has really helped me to understand my own and the people around me better and I'm very grateful for that :) .' I know I have been quiet for a while on here! It has been quite full on with therapy clients, supervisees and training.
I do have a couple of spaces free at the moment for during the day sessions - please get in touch if you feel I can help you.
I am also now working with Violet Psychology based in Dublin. Please see the link below with my profile and euro rate. I am so happy to find an organisation who's values align so well with my own!
Exciting things are happening, but like I tell all of my clients, it is important to prioritise you. I am definitely focusing on self care and making sure I don't take too much on!

Laura Hall (She/her) I qualified as a person centred counsellor and psychotherapist in 2022, and have since continued studying on different areas that are of benefit to my personal growth and to support the clients I work with. I am qualified to work with children and young people, as well as people...
