Springs are one of the most important parts of the reformer — but they’re also one of the most misunderstood.
More springs doesn’t automatically mean “harder” and fewer springs doesn’t always mean “easier”.
The spring setting changes the reformer resistance, assistance, stability and control required throughout an exercise.
Understanding your springs allows you to choose resistance with purpose rather than simply copying a spring setting from someone else or from a class plan.
Consider the real aim of each exercise for your next Pilates workout or class! 💫
