Fast and Efficient Access to Private Care for Musculoskeletal Conditions in Scotland

Getting through to your local GP , Hospital or Insurance Company often seems to be a lot more difficult than it should be. And then the procedures and policies you may be asked to follow can be confusing.
We are pleased to take new direct referrals and patient enquiries, without referral from your GP . Follow the CONTACT PORTAL on this page or on our website. Or give us a call.

A full range of outpatient and inpatient services are available at our main hospital partner, The Albyn Hospital, Aberdeen. Your specialist assessment , X-rays and scans can be arranged to happen on a single visit to our clinic.

For outpatient referrals and review appointments, we can now provide a remote online or telephone consultation service. This may make it unnecessary to attend hospital for an appointment, whilst still allowing for a thorough assessment and treatment plan to be arranged.

During summer, it is not uncommon for people to have more energy and prefer going outdoors to stay active so with this in mind it's always important to look after your body if you are planning some outdoor activities.

We've listed a few common summer injuries below, do any of these sound familiar to you?

✳️Tennis Elbow - sporting activities such as tennis and golf have particular repetitive movements and this can lead to injury

✳️ Runners knee - When the sun is shining, more people venture outside for running and cycling. It is another repetitive strain injury that causes a dull pain around the knee area.

✳️Tendonitis - An overuse injury that causes inflammation in the tendon, caused by running, swimming, basketball and many other sporting activities

✳️Sprains - Caused by falling or twisting. Sprains occur when a ligament near a joint is stretched or torn.

✳️Plantar faciitis - During the summer we tend to swap our supportive shoes to flip flops, pumps or sandals which can cause the foot muscles to become strained and tired.

We would like to remind you that we are here to help you and if you are concerned about any of the above injuries, please get in touch by emailing [email protected].

Here in the UK, approximately 1 in 9 adults over the age of 46 years old have osteoarthritis of the hip...so what do we know about this common condition?

Arthritis causes swelling and pain inside the body's joints and is a condition that is likely to develop as people age. The hip joint is a ball and socket joint covered with cartilage, (a rubbery material made of proteins and water) as we get older the cartilage tissue can break down due to inflammation or injury and cause pain and discomfort in the joints.

It is not entirely known what causes hip osteoarthritis, however experiencing an injury, growing older and being overweight can be contributing factors. It can be heditary and is more common in women than in men.

As osteoarthritis gets worse over time, it is important to get a diagnosis so your doctor can offer the correct treatment. To find out the symptoms and treatments available for hip osteoarthritis, visit our website here: https://j.mp/3lTm7tB

What is subacromial impingement? 🤔

Subacromial impingement is a condition that involves the irritation and inflammation of the rotator cuff tendons where they go through the subacromial space. This leads to pain and a limited range of motion in the shoulder.

The condition can be related to a range of other conditions, including subacromial bursitis, rotator cuff tendinosis, and calcific tendinitis, which can all cause wear between the subacromial bursa or supraspinatus tendon and coracoacromial arch.

Subacromial impingement is uncommon in patients under the age of 30 and typically affects those in manual occupations or with active lifestyles.
