Back where it all began. Here's me celebrating 1 year of my wee business and teaching classes.
Fast forward another 8 years to now, and I'll be celebrating 10 years next year.!!

Oh, how times flies, I have met so many wonderful people in this time and have been a part of so many journeys into Motherhood. It really is a privilege to see you all transition into the amazing Mama's you are.
Watching your little ones progressing from bump to a little person with their own little personalities is truly special.
Then being lucky enough to have you return when you are pregnant with your next baby. So grateful. 🥰

Sometimes, it's hard to see how far you've come when you're just in your little corner of the world doing your thing.

Then you look back and think WOW.

Thank you all for the time you have spent with me over the last 9 years, thank you for choosing my littke bisiness, I remember each and every one of you.

SUMMER SOCIAL

Where - Monymusk Park
When - Tuesday 28th July @ 1030am
Who - Everyone

As the Mum and Baby classes are paused for the Summer Hols we are having a Summer get together in the Park at Monymusk for a wee walk, play and picnic, with a back up plan of moving to the Studio if the weather isn't kind to us.
Fingers crossed it is, because Monymusk park is lovely and sunny with lots of play equipment and wide open space to run around.

Join us for the duration, join us for a little while, whatever suits.

There will be access to toilets in the Studio if needed.

I'd love to see you all there, whether you are currently in classes, or whether you have previously attended, or if you just want to come and meet the community. And please don't worry if its been a while since you were in classes that I wont remember you, I will. 🥰

9 years teaching classes. now lets see how big a gathering we can make!!

Brownies and Birth Prep chat at last night's Pregnancy class at Monymusk, with such a great group of girls.

But my heart goes out to them right now, having to navigate the current situation at Inverurie Birth Unit and it's LOCK AND LEAVE policy, and also being assessed for discharge home at 2 hours, or transfer to AMH fur further care.

2 hours post birth is wild, when you think about at least 1 hour uninterrupted time post birth, time to assess and suture if needed, time to feed, time to check and weigh baby, shower, refuel and that's not to mention the fact they have just given birth!!! They are at their most vulnerable.

It is also causing so much Birth anxiety with the uncertainty that it will even be an option for Birth on the day.

What is most frustrating is that this information is not being conveyed correctly and willingly to all, from listening to all the Mums to be chatting in class they are all still being given different versions or none at all.
Which is unfair.

Can you tell I feel a wee bit mad about this??

Having been a midwife for many years, I totally understand the constraints of the system, and they can only offer what they can offer. But at very heart of this there are the people who need to use this service and make choices for themselves and their babies.

They deserve the facts even if it makes the current provided service look lacking.

Birth choices are important and to make them you need all the correct information.

Everyone is different, some need a set plan to feel safe and confident for birth and need to know where they are definitely heading.

Others are comfortable with a Plan A and Plan B.

It's a lot for Mama's to be and their partners to mentally navigate.

Helping as much as I can, by offering Circles to chat, and feel listened to, so they can work their way through their planning and process and voice their feelings.

To all my class attendees who are snd have navigated this difficult situation, I'm so proud of you all. 🙌

Did you know MotherChakra has a wee WhatsApp community?
It's full of Mums with children of various ages. It started off as a 4th Trimester WhatsApp, but then the mums wanted to stay, so the group evolved over the 9 years I've been teaching into what it is now.

I'm so proud of the support and advice they give each other. It's beautiful to watch, and I'm not sure they all realise just how magical they all are.
The last couple of days' chat is Nursery recommendations, and the help and advice being offered is coming from different people, from different classes over the years.

It's not a WhatApp group that will drive you crazy pinging all the time, and you feel like you have to engage to be included.

It's a space that's there for when you need it, a space that holds a wealth of knowledge and experience,and when itumps to life, you see just how magical a space it is. A group of women who will walk this path of Motherhood with you. Being honest about it, sharing the beauty of it, and also how feckin hard it is at times.

A safe space for honest and helpful sharing.
Just what a Mama needs.

Hello July so nice to see you. ☀️☀️☀️

That means it's almost time for me to spend the summer with my gang! I can't wait. 🥰

It does mean that next week is the last week of a full timetable of classes.

But keep your eyes peeled, I'm hoping to pop up info of a summer park catch for all to attend. Past and present class attendees, siblings included, or those of you who have maybe not made it to lass but would love to meet us. ALL welcome.

I love visual props when I'm teaching Birth Prep.

They make it more of a discussion and less of an information giving session.

These sessions are all about getting people talking.

Gaining knowledge and understanding

And making connections.

Giving Birth can be very daunting, but it doesn't have to be. With a little bit of time, effort and guidance, all that can be lessened.
The aim of these sessions is to make you feel ready and excited for Birth.

You can come on your own, with your Birth Partner or a friend.
However you choose, you will be made so welcome.

Its nearly the School Holidays, 4 days and counting until I get to spend the Summer with my little gang. A slower pace and memories to be made.

This means that there will be some wee changes to my usual class schedule.

Classes will run as usual until Sunday 12th July inclusive.

Following this both the Mum and Baby class will take a break. Everyone's blocks will pause and will reconvene the week of the 17th August.

The Pregnancy classes will continue apart from a short break in August. details to follow.

I'll put details and reminders in the class WhatsApp groups.

Lets hope this gorgeous weather continues.

Here are the Why's of Pregnancy Yoga.

There are so may benefits for you and Baby during Pregnancy and Birth.

Time to slow down. to step away from your busy life for a moment in time each week. Time to get to know your new body. To nurture it throughout pregnancy.

And the most important point of all.... You Do NOT need to have done Yoga before.

Many who join my classes are new to Yoga, and that's ok. I'm more than happy to guide you. Yoga is for everone.
