Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are looking for people across Scotland to help shape a new national online resource about post-abortion contraception.

The SCOPE+ study, funded by the Scottish Government Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Action Plan, aims to develop a clear, inclusive and trustworthy digital resource to support informed choice about contraception after abortion.

If you are aged 18 or over, live or work in Scotland and have experience of post-abortion contraception either personally or by supporting a friend, family member or partner you can help by completing a short anonymous survey.

Your feedback will help ensure the resource meets the needs of people across Scotland.

Tune in today at 4pm to SHMU FM to hear Rose chat with Pauline Dundas, Lead Hepatology Nurse Specialist from NHS Grampian about World Hepatitis Day.

World Hepatitis day is on July 28th. It takes place every year and is a great opportunity to raise awareness of viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C).

Many people living with viral hepatitis have no symptoms and may not realise they are infected. The good news is that these diseases can be prevented, tested for and treated.

Look out for our World Hepatitis Day information stands at the Rotunda Entrance of ARI and the entrance area at Dr Gray's Hospital.

287 million people worldwide are living with viral hepatitis. ๐Œ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐งโ€™๐ญ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ.

Viral hepatitis often shows ๐ง๐จ ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฌ, so many wonโ€™t know they have it until itโ€™s too late.
Chronic hepatitis B and C are the worldโ€™s leading cause of liver cancer.

Whatโ€™s holding us back? Low awareness, misinformation, myths and stigma are stopping people from accessing hepatitis services.

The Nexplanonยฎ implant is now licensed for 5 years for contraception in the UK, following strong evidence showing it remains safe and effective, with no pregnancies reported in years 4โ€“5 of use.

This is great news for women who are currently using the implant for contraception as it can be kept for 5 years before it needs changing.

We have launched the following two surveys:
Contraception survey: We are inviting women living in Grampian to share their experiences and views on contraception. Your feedback will help us understand what is working well, what challenges people face, and how local sexual health services can be improved: https://ow.ly/1yZN50YQvvV
PrEP Survey: We are gathering feedback to help improve access to HIV prevention and sexual health services across Grampian. This short, anonymous survey asks about your awareness and experiences of PrEP, as well as any barriers you may have faced when seeking information, testing, or support. Your responses will help NHS Grampian understand what is working well and where services could be made easier to use: https://ow.ly/PKoV50YQvvW
Both are short surveys to complete and are anonymous.
