We had a fabulous time yesterday sharing information about our Open Day this Sunday and other events during the Autumn in the Rosemount Area of Aberdeen.

A lovely cafe lunch finished off a great day.

People said how much they enjoyed having time in silence. Such a rarity in everyday life!
The time between meditation sessions gave plenty of opportunity for contemplation, reading and walking in the beautiful local area, enjoying the longest day and some spectacular sunsets as well as delicious food

Away Retreat - The Stillness Within (pt 1)

Last weekend attendees from around the North of Scotland had a beautiful silent retreat in Portsoy. Kelsang Yonchen led meditations on the nature of the mind, taking students into the experience of the peace and tranquility that arises we start to focus on the mind itself, rather than the busyness of our conceptual thoughts.

Sessions took place in the cosy Salmon Bothy, a short walk along the coast path from our accomodation at the Sail Loft.

We really enjoyed our Art Day in Aberdeen last Saturday, learning how to Draw the Face of Buddha in a qualified manner according to traditional techniques, led by Kelsang Yonchen

It was a relaxed day but lots of concentration required! Everyone is delighted with their newly created images of Buddha.

Out and about in Aberdeen -

We have had a busy week this week getting the word out, with Kelsang Yonchen giving a talk to the Aberdeen St Fittick Rotary club and Helen and Adele running a stall and some taster meditations at a well-being event for Police Scotland on Friday at Marischal College

There was a lot of interest in the benefits of meditation and the freely available Kadampa Meditation App was of particular interest.

Looking forward to our next event in the community when we are in Powis on the 5th June. 😍

Tomorrow!!

Even in daily life it is difficult to get things done when we are distracted. Through training in single pointed concentration we can enter deeper and deeper states of meditation, making swift progress on our spiritual path.

Eventually we can experience completely pure concentration and the bliss and mental suppleness that comes with it.
