Last night was a late one.. poor Jaelyn has ended up with an infected pump site. Its not something that happens alot but it can happen and unfortunately its happened for us! Jaelyn is on antibiotics to clear it up.
Fingers crossed it helps and will clear up soon🤞🏻

Jaelyns comment hit me really hard last night.

She has to change her insulin pump every 3 days and her sensor every 15 days. I always take for granted how resilient she is and just copes with it all without any complaints, she just does it!

But last night she was tired and said 'no, I just wont eat tomorrow' instead of me changing her sensor. It just made me realise we never really know how she is feeling or the impact this has on her mentally and physically.

She is resilient and an inspiration but she is also only 5 and im so proud of her every single day. 💙

Jaelyn came home from school and told me she made a book at school.

This was not what I expected at all! It was called 'Diabetes Book'. She made it all by herself and in her own words! 🥺

Jaelyn tried her Omnipod on her arm for the first time tonight and she asked if she could make a video to tell everyone as she was so excited! Im not sure where all the sass comes from.. 😳🤣

but im so incredibly proud of her!

Normally we have it on her leg and tummy but I have been asking her for a while if she wanted to try her arm but she was never that keen but tonight she asked me to put it on her arm and try 🥺

Were not 100% sure how great it will stay on as she has such little arms or if it will be knocked off more easily but we will try it and will give her legs and tummy a little rest for a while!
