September is World Alzheimer’s Month.
Alzheimer’s and other dementias are not “just getting older.” Across the world, more than 55 million people are living with dementia — and someone develops it every three seconds.
This year’s message is simple: the earlier you know, the more you can do.
A timely diagnosis can open the door to treatment, support, planning, and better quality of life for the person and the people who care for them.
If you or someone you love has noticed:
-memory changes that affect daily life
-getting lost in familiar places
-repeating questions
-struggling with words, bills, or routines
…speak to a GP. It’s not overreacting. It’s looking after someone.
World Alzheimer’s Day is 21 September.
