Hello folks! It's been a while since I've done a little bio, so here's a bit about me...
I'm Bex, I am a wellbeing practitioner from Blaenau Gwent.
I trained in pregnancy yoga after having to travel out of area to keep my regular yoga practice up when pregnant with my now seven year old son, and the benefits of pregnancy yoga were so far-reaching for me, I trained in it.
After an uphill battle to conceive, the experience of losses, and working in frontline trauma support, attending pregnancy yoga was not only the calming anchor I needed every week, but also, it helped me to connect to my baby, believe my pregnancy was finally happening, and - I believe - helped me sustain my pregnancy so I felt I needed to share this powerful work with other women in the hope it could help them too.
Having studied developmental psychology, counselling and an English degree that focussed on women's work and feminism, with 8 years working in domestic abuse support, trauma recovery and later teaching counselling, supporting women through the massive - and often vulnerable - transitions of pregnancy and early motherhood was a natural choice.
Our classes are not your ordinary "workout". They are delivered from my core beliefs and passion to support women through every chapter of womanhood.
They are "the village" of community women need in pregnancy and early motherhood.
They are the hug of held space as all your stuff is heard and understood.
They are the sharing of knowledge that empowers you in your pregnancy and motherhood journey.
Our classes are not about slamming our bodies to get back into our teeny jeans in an unrealistic amount of time. They are not about judging ourselves or comparing ourselves against the other women in the room or, quite frankly, of putting up a bu****it facade of perfection.
Our classes are about making space for Real Women. Real Bodies. Real Conversations and celebrating how bloody marvellous our bodies are. As they are.
They're about allowing ourselves the space to be liberated in our authenticity. Just as we are.
They empower women with reliable evidence to make informed choices and remember they have rights over what happens with - not to - their bodies in pregnancy and birth.
And, in a sea of groups that are all about the baby, they are the class with the ethos "hold the mama, so she can hold the baby".
We cannot pour from an empty cup mamas. We show up as the most loving, conscious parents when our needs are met too and this ripples out from generation to generation.
Now my three-year-old is in nursery, stay tuned for therapeutic offerings for all women, and a rebrand coming soon.
Drop me a message to join one of our lovely classes.
All the loves, Bex xx 07898 833774
