The third and final organisation we chose to support through this round of our community funding is The Catch-Up Club.
The Catch-Up Club provides a safe, inclusive space where people can come together to enjoy each other’s company, build friendships, and take part in a range of activities. It is run by personal assistants who support young adults with learning disabilities and additional needs.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at a wheelchair-accessible venue with changing facilities, offering a welcoming environment where people can build friendships and enjoy a chat over a cuppa. This friendly and inclusive group is open to everyone, including families navigating the SEN world, carers, personal support assistants, and service users looking for a positive change of pace and an opportunity to connect with others.
The Catch-Up Club is raising funds to support a variety of activities for its members, including crafts and other engaging sessions that help create positive, inclusive community experiences. The group were seeking support to help bring these initiatives to life, and donations of any size were welcomed, as every contribution would make a meaningful difference to the people who attend.
We really enjoyed meeting this lovely group of people and learning more about the positive impact they are making. We look forward to getting out into the community, seeing their activities in action, and supporting the fantastic work they do to bring people together and create meaningful connections. 💙
