🚨 “I JUST NEED SIGNING OFF…” 🚨
Four emails in the last two days saying pretty much the same thing:
“I’ll run a course for you — I just need signing off.” Or “I have a course , I am mid way through - I need a mentor to sign me off “
No. That’s not how this works.
We absolutely DO support new Educators,Trainers and Assessors — and we actively encourage people who want to develop, learn and progress.
But we are NOT here to simply put our name to somebody and “sign them off.”
Every single one of our Educators/ Trainer/Assessor has WORKED for and EARNED their Tutor/Educator/ Trainer status, whether through us or another ATC.
There are no shortcuts when it comes to standards.
Especially when we are talking about regulated qualifications, licences to practise, learner safety and professional responsibility.
Come to us and say:
✅ “Can you help me?”
✅ “Can you guide or mentor me?”
✅ “Can you moderate my work?”
✅ “Can I shadow you?”
✅ “Can we work together?”
✅ “Can you help me reach the required standard?”
YES. Absolutely. We will support you.
But…
❌ “I just need signing off.”
No.
A sign-off is NOT a favour…
It is NOT a tick-box exercise.
And it is NOT something you are entitled to because you want to start delivering courses.
When an Educator or ATC signs somebody off, we are putting our professional reputation, standards and accountability behind that person.
We are saying:
“We have seen the evidence. We have assessed their practice. We are satisfied they meet the required standard.”
That means something.
We are all working towards the same greater good — credible education, competent practitioners, high standards and safe practice.
So if you want to learn, develop, be mentored and earn your status, our door is open.
If you “just need signing off”, we are probably not the right people to ask.
Standards over shortcuts. Every single time. 👏
