We enjoyed the most wonderful afternoon in the garden, making the very best of the sunshine with our residents, colleagues and visiting family members 💛🌿

There were ice lollies, fruit juices, plenty of smiles and lots of helping hands as everyone joined in to plant beautiful flowers around the garden 🍦🌺✨

It was a truly fun‑filled and heart‑warming afternoon — the perfect mix of sunshine, laughter and togetherness. A lovely day enjoyed by all at Redwoods Care Home 💕

🎂🎉 A Very Special 90th Birthday Celebration at Redwoods 🎉🎂

We had the pleasure of celebrating a very special 90th birthday here at Redwoods Care Home, and what a fantastic afternoon it was 💛

We were delighted to be entertained by the wonderful Northern Lights Choir, whose music created a lively and uplifting party atmosphere 🎶

Everyone joined in with the singing, enjoying the music and spending time together - it was wonderful to see so many smiles and shared moments throughout the celebration 😊

We’ve got an exciting line-up planned for everyone to enjoy… from outdoor games and face painting, to live music and a fantastic gymnastics display. Plus, test your skills with “Beat the Goalie” and show off your celebration style!

We had such a lovely afternoon celebrating Mary’s retirement here at Redwoods Care Home. Residents and colleagues came together to share memories, laughter and plenty of warm wishes as we marked this very special occasion 💛

A beautiful cake — lovingly made by one of our very own colleagues — was the perfect centrepiece, and it was enjoyed by everyone 🍰🌼

Mary, you will be so dearly missed at Redwoods. Your kindness, dedication and hard work over the years have made such a meaningful difference to so many. You will always be welcome back anytime, and we hope your retirement is filled with happiness, relaxation and all the things you love ❤️🌷

🎶💛 Live Music Afternoons at Redwoods 💛🎶

We’ve been enjoying some truly lovely live music sessions here at Redwoods Care Home, bringing everyone together for afternoons filled with music, singing and great company 🌼

A big thank you to the Portmahomack Ceilidh Band for their wonderful mix of instruments, lively Scottish tunes and warm atmosphere — and to Margo Fraser for her beautiful singing and much‑loved sing‑alongs that our residents look forward to so much 🎻🎤✨

Residents have been enjoying these afternoons with their families, sharing a wee tea, choosing a favourite drink and listening to all different styles of music. These sessions are always filled with memories, melodies, smiles and togetherness 💛🎶

We had a truly special International Nurses Day here at Redwoods Care Home, taking time to show our appreciation for everything our wonderful nurses do each and every day 💛✨

As a thoughtful surprise, our residents created handmade thank‑you cards filled with personal messages for our nursing team. These heartfelt words and creative touches meant so much, and it was lovely to recognise the kindness, dedication and care our nurses bring to the home 🌸

A huge thank you to all our colleagues for everything you do — your compassion and commitment make such a difference to our residents and their families every single day 💕🌿

🇬🇧🌼 VE Day Celebrations at Redwoods! 🌼🇬🇧

We had a truly lovely VE Day celebration during our weekly visit from the wonderful pupils of Alness Academy 💛✨

The pupils joined in and supported our residents during a fun and lively VE Day quiz, with everyone enjoying the chance to shout out the answers together. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and friendly competition throughout the morning 🎉📚😊

Medals and trophies were awarded as prizes, adding to the excitement, and we rounded off the morning with a sweet little award ceremony followed by coffee served in china cups and saucers — a perfect touch for the occasion ☕💙

What does it actually mean to be a nurse?

Not the job description.
Not the uniform.
Not the “no two days are the same” line.

The real answer.

For International Nurses Day 2026, we sat down with nurses from across Meallmore and asked them a few simple questions about what nursing means to them.

Their answers said everything.

It’s compassion when someone needs reassurance.
It’s clinical skill when decisions matter.
It’s patience on the difficult days.
It’s leadership when a team needs guidance.
It’s knowing someone’s routine, their family, their worries, their sense of humour.

In care homes, nurses do so much more than deliver care.

They build trust.
They support families.
They lead teams.
They protect dignity.
They help make our homes feel like home.

So today, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible nurses across Meallmore who bring their knowledge, kindness and calm presence into our homes every single day.

A fitting tribute to an amazing profession - and to the people who show what nursing really means. 💙

We enjoyed the perfect takeaway pizza night this Sunday, with delicious pizzas from Hot N Spicy — and they certainly didn’t disappoint 💛
Everyone chose their favourite toppings from the menu, making it a relaxed and tasty way to round off the weekend.

Great food, great company and plenty of happy smiles — a wonderful evening for all at Redwoods Care Home 🌼
