🎨🌸 Arts & Crafts in Ivy’s Summerhouse 🌸🎨

What a wonderful time our residents had getting creative in Ivy’s Summerhouse, surrounded by the beauty of our rear garden. 🌿☀️

Arts and crafts are such a lovely way for our residents to express themselves, spark creativity and enjoy a sense of achievement. It also provides an opportunity to reminisce, share ideas, have a chat and, most importantly, have fun together. 💕🖌️

There was lots of creativity, laughter and wonderful conversation as our residents enjoyed some quality time together in such a peaceful and beautiful setting.

We love creating opportunities for our residents to try new things, enjoy their hobbies and spend meaningful time with others. It’s the little moments like these that make such special memories. 🥰🌷

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Summer Party on Saturday! ☀️🎉

What a lovely afternoon we shared together. It was wonderful to see our residents, families, friends, and staff all coming together to enjoy the sunshine, great company, delicious refreshments, music, and plenty of smiles.

Days like these remind us how special our care home community is. Spending time together, making memories, and celebrating one another is what it's all about.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and we're already looking forward to the next one! 💛🌼

💙 Happy Father's Day! 💙

Today, we celebrate all the wonderful fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who have shared their love, wisdom, strength, and guidance throughout the years.

At our care home, we are proud to honour the incredible men who have helped shape families, communities, and generations with their kindness and dedication. Their stories, memories, and achievements continue to inspire us every day.

We hope all our residents, families, and friends enjoy a special day filled with love, laughter, cherished memories, and time spent with loved ones.

We thought it was time for a little catch up on all the lovely things happening here at the home lately! 🌼☀️

Our residents recently enjoyed a fun and interactive “ABC of Professions” session, where we worked through different jobs for every letter of the alphabet. The most memorable suggestion definitely had to be “Gangster” for the letter G… although nobody is admitting who came up with that one! 😂 Safe to say it gave everyone a good laugh and sparked plenty of conversation.

Activities like these are fantastic for encouraging memory recall, communication, creativity, and social interaction — all while having lots of fun together.

We’ve also been busy in the garden creating beautiful hanging baskets using the seedlings we previously grew ourselves. It’s been wonderful watching them thrive and brighten up our outdoor spaces. Gardening activities are so beneficial for wellbeing, giving residents a sense of achievement, purpose, and connection with nature. 🌸🌿

With the lovely sunny weather, we’ve also enjoyed numerous puzzle games outdoors together. Puzzles help keep minds active, support concentration and problem-solving skills, and of course bring everyone together for some friendly fun in the sunshine! ☀️🧩

Today we celebrate a very special 90th birthday for one of our lovely residents during their short stay with us 🎉💖

Our amazing Catering Manager created this beautiful handmade personalised cake to help make the day extra special. Wishing a very happy 90th birthday filled with smiles, love and wonderful memories! 🎂✨

Sunshine, smiles, and a touch of friendly competition! ☀️🌷

Our residents made the most of the glorious spring weather today with a “friendly” game of bowls in the garden — though we’re not sure how friendly it stayed once the competition heated up! 😄

With not an April shower in sight, it was the perfect chance to get outdoors, enjoy some fresh air, and stay active. Activities like this are a wonderful way to support mobility, coordination, and overall wellbeing — all while sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

🇬🇧 Happy St George’s Day! 🇬🇧

We’ve had a wonderful day celebrating with a traditional English-themed lunch, topped off with a delicious apple pie and custard for dessert – a firm favourite! 🍎🥧

This afternoon, residents made the most of the beautiful sunshine out in the garden, where we enjoyed a fun quiz and lively discussion all about famous English landmarks.

🌱✨ Our Little Gardeners at Work! ✨🌱

Our residents have been growing these tiny seedlings from seed, and every day brings new surprises! I might know what’s what because I peeked at the labels… 🤫

Can you guess which seedling will become which flower? No prizes here—just the glory of bragging rights and the satisfaction of being a budding plant detective! 🌸🌼🌷

These little sprouts aren’t just cute—they’ll brighten up our garden, attract pollinators, and lift our spirits with their colors.

This morning’s activities brought plenty of smiles, focus, and a touch of friendly competition! 🎲🧩

Residents enjoyed a lively game of Connect Four, where some healthy rivalry kept everyone on their toes and the laughter flowing. Games like this are great for encouraging social interaction, boosting mood, and keeping the mind active.

For those who preferred a quieter pace, puzzles were the perfect choice. Completing a puzzle is fantastic for improving concentration, supporting memory, and giving a real sense of achievement — especially when paired with a lovely cuppa and a couple of choccy biscuits ☕🍪

As you can see, it’s often the simple things that bring the most joy. 💛
