Timperley Nursing Home Timperley is a dementia and nursing care home, purpose built in 2009 in the Cheshire village of Timperley.

We’re looking back at some lovely memories from our International Dog Day celebration with our residents and our favourite “regular” guest! 🥰
Lots of cuddles, smiles and plenty of attention — although we’re not sure who was happier to see whom! 😂🐕
And let’s be honest… once the dog arrives, the residents’ laps are no longer their own! 😄🐾

🌟 Kingsley Dignity Celebration 🌟

What a lovely day celebrating dignity and togetherness! 💜
Our residents got involved in making beautiful decorations, including a bunting made from their handprints. 🖐️ The connected handprints symbolise togetherness, friendship and the importance of every individual being part of our community.
We then enjoyed a little buffet and were entertained by a wonderful singer. 🎶

It was a lovely afternoon with a great atmosphere, lots of smiles and happy moment.

Our residents enjoyed a lovely gardening session. We gave our new planter some extra care and had a little tidy-up together. 💚💜
Before getting started, we enjoyed a fun sensory herb game — smelling, tasting and guessing different herbs, as well as talking about what we use them for. 🌿👃👩‍🌾

Yesterday, as part of our 🦉celebrations, we were delighted to welcome MMB Falconry and owner Mal, who cares for over 40 birds of prey. He brought along a selection of his amazing birds for our residents to meet.
Residents had the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating birds, ask questions, and discover what they eat, how long they live, and the important role they play in nature. We were all impressed by how calm and well-behaved they were—although one of the younger birds certainly kept Mal on his toes with its impatience!🙂
🪶The birds all had fantastic names too, including Jaffa, Sonic, Clint (Eastwood) , Sal, and Fiona, which brought plenty of smiles.
The visit also brought back special memories. One of our ladies fondly reminisced about the talking parrot she used to own, sharing stories about the words and phrases it could say and how much she loved caring for it. For Molly, who grew up on a farm, the visit also brought back many happy memories of being around animals.
A big thank you to Mal and MMB Falconry for sharing his knowledge and introducing us to some of the wonderful birds💜

We enjoyed a lovely local trip to Wythenshawe Park, making the most of the beautiful weather. What more could we ask for?☀️
We then visited some incredible community gardens, where we were amazed by the horticultural project. 🫜🫑🫛
The giant pumpkins, towering sunflowers, and thriving vegetable gardens were truly impressive!
It was a pleasure to chat with the people involved in the project, who proudly shared their hard work and dedication. They also invited everyone to visit, support the project, and buy fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers, and garden pots.🪴
Our afternoon continued with a visit to the local farm, followed by a well-deserved whippy ice cream. 🍦 It was the perfect way to round off a day filled with laughter, new experiences, and wonderful memories that our residents will treasure.

Friendship is all about spending time together, sharing conversations, and creating happy memories.🤝🥰

To celebrate International , we were delighted to welcome residents from our sister home,Four Oaks Care Home, for a lovely social tea in our garden. 🌸
It was wonderful to see familiar faces, with some residents recognising friends from previous trips while enjoying tea, coffee, delicious cupcakes, and plenty of conversation in the beautiful sunshine.
Our visitors thoughtfully brought handmade friendship cards and little gift bags filled with sweet treats, which were greatly appreciated. A special thank you to our Head of Domestic, Ada, for making the beautiful cupcakes that everyone enjoyed.🧁😍
We also had fun taking part in an interactive activity, learning a little more about one another by sharing our favourite colour, animal, holiday destination, and where we come from. We then used everyone's answers to create a colourful rainbow craft, celebrating the friendships we continue to build.🌈
A lovely afternoon spent together, and we look forward to welcoming our friends again soon.💜

🌍 World Nature Conservation Day 🌿

World Nature Conservation Day is a chance to celebrate and raise awareness about protecting our natural environment and supporting local wildlife. 🌳
Here at our care home, we've been doing our bit by adding a beautiful bug house to our garden, creating a safe home for insects and helping nature thrive. 🐞🌼
Every small action makes a difference, and we're proud to be creating a welcoming outdoor space for both our residents and local wildlife.
