tually. The benefits of a Reiki treatment may include deep relaxation and the promotion of a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing. Essentially, Reiki may work by activating the body’s natural ability to heal itself through deep relaxation and through encouraging a healthy flow of energy. Nowadays more than ever before, the stresses and worries of modern life can all too often lead to overwhelm, anxiety and feeling lost. Reiki can be used to support and release these emotions, often renewing clarity, bringing about peace and restoring the momentum we need to move forward in our lives. Many clients turn to Reiki to complement (but not replace) other medical or therapeutic techniques, finding it effective and beneficial in treating and relieving a number of symptoms and conditions.

I’d love to hear about your experiences.

This project isn’t about proving or disproving Reiki. It’s an exploration of how attunements are experienced and what they mean to practitioners.

🌀Celebrating Five Years Since Shinpiden🌀

Last week marked five years since I completed Shinpiden (Reiki Master / Reiki Master Teacher level) in both Usui Reiki Ryoho and Usui Shiki Ryoho, alongside my two beautiful coursemates, who have since become lifelong friends, under the expert guidance of the wonderful Amanda White Amanda White.

🤍That course meant absolutely everything to me.🤍

I remember the complete immersion in learning, the profound experience of the Master attunement, the meditations on the Master symbol, the deepening of my understanding of this practice I had chosen and the expansion of awareness that came with it.

So much shifted for me during those four days. Yet attaining this level was by no means an arrival at “mastery”. In fact, it was only the beginning.

What does it mean to become a Master?…

For me, it means striving to master oneself through right thoughts, right actions and a commitment to living the Reiki Precepts. With practice and dedication, this evolves from something we do into something we are. Yet the beautiful paradox is that we can never truly be “Masters”, because we are all perpetual students, learning, growing and healing the lived experience every single day.

What Shinpiden gave me was the realisation that I was already enough. Perfectly imperfect, exactly as I was.

It marked the beginning of a journey away from anxiety and “not-enoughness”, towards healing and a deeper anchoring in the love and kindness at the heart of this beautiful practice.

I am eternally grateful that I found my way into Amanda’s classes, (seemingly by chance!) and for her mentorship, wisdom and beautiful example, which inspired me to create my own Reiki courses and teach in ways and in spaces I never could have imagined.

And I am equally grateful for the beautiful companionship of Helen | Reiki Master Teacher whose path has woven alongside mine through all these years, inspiring and guiding each other….

Five years on, I remain a student. Still learning. Still growing. Still healing. 🤍🤍🤍 That’s the Mastery!…

What do you love about yourself?

I LOVE that there is a flame in me, a ROARING voice that is louder than the self-sabotaging voice and it screams “OK. I can do this”

4.11miles ran this morning (I wonder why the 0.11 is always so important to me?….)….with so much stacked against me….
👎🏻no running buddy as she has blisters
👎🏻no AirPods so no podcast, audiobook or playlist
👎🏻forgot to eat anything first
👎🏻no run for a few weeks and some over indulgence in between

The little voice kicked in early on “this hurts….. I wobble as I run….. let’s make it a short one….” and it was silenced by a determination and a self belief that are now core deep in me 🤍

I made it all the way to the tunnel and back. I checked. The light is still there. My heron was there all the way along, too 🩶🤍

Inspired by Kirsty Gallagher who yesterday delivered a promised post honouring Lammas - an invitation to pause and celebrate what has flourished. She asked the question and shared her answer : what do you love most about yourself?

I mulled it and decided I couldn’t answer that. And then this morning, as I plodded along the canal, I realised I have so much I love about myself. So so much.🤍🤍🤍

What do you love about yourself? I’d love you to tell me in the comments……

NEW ON THE BLOG!

What happens on a Reiki 1 Course?

I’ve been reflecting on writing this one for a long time now, because I want you to know just how special a Reiki Course can be…..

In this blog I take you into the two days:
how I prepare, how the group gathers, the shape of the two days and what the experience can feel like for all involved.

I learn so much each and every time, because every course is different….. it depends on the people, the energy, the moment in time….

But at its heart, my intention is always the same:
🤍a commitment to honouring Reiki as a practice for self healing, first and foremost, within high course standards
🤍creating a calm, supportive space for learning, exploration and reflection about Reiki
🤍beginning something that continues long beyond the two days

If you’ve ever been curious about Reiki training, or are wondering whether this might be for you. You can read the full blog over on my Substack (link in bio) / here :

🤍On Grief & Reiki 🤍

I’ve written a piece that’s been brewing for a long time — exploring Reiki for Grief; Reiki as both a
complementary therapy and a personal practice.

Taking inspiration from the Death Doula Preparation Course I am following with , as well as rich learning from books “LOST RITES; Community of Grief” by Alexandra Derwen and Francis Weller’s “The Wild Edge of Sorrow”, these are my own reflections on what I have observed and learnt, specifically through my Reiki practice 🌀

In this blog, I reflect on what I’ve witnessed through my own grief, my Reiki practice, and my work
with bereaved clients, hospice patients and students:
how Reiki can offer silent companionship,
emotional movement, anchoring and comfort in the face of loss.

This isn’t about having answers, because I’m certainly no expert.

It’s about willingness to sit with the unknown.

If you’re curious about Reiki as a complementary (never alternative) support for grief or about learning the language of grief more deeply, I invite you to read the full piece on Substack.
