Beautiful ride through Hook Norton and the Cotswolds last weekend - stunning views, and definitely not as flat as it looks on the map!

Big reminder here: hydration matters, and so does putting the miles in before you hit those hills!

This Pride Month, we’re recognising the importance of creating healthcare environments where everyone feels respected, welcomed and comfortable being themselves.

Research continues to show that some LGBTQ+ people delay seeking healthcare because of previous negative experiences, concerns about judgement, or worries about not being understood.

We believe everyone deserves compassionate care, a listening ear, and treatment tailored to their individual needs.

A very Happy Pride Month from all of us. 🌈

Why can hot weather sometimes make joints feel worse?

If your back, knees or hips feel stiffer during a heatwave, it’s not just your imagination. Heat, dehydration and changes in pressure can all affect joints, muscles and inflammation levels.

A few simple things can really help:

💧 Stay hydrated - your joints and spinal discs rely heavily on water

🩴 Avoid unsupportive flip-flops if you’re walking a lot

🚶 Move earlier or later in the day when it’s cooler

🦵 Keep blood flow moving with regular walks and calf stretches

🛏️ Be mindful of sleeping positions, especially on unfamiliar beds during holidays.

And remember - just because your muscles feel warm doesn’t mean they don’t still need stretching.

Know someone whose joints always complain in hot weather? Send this to them ☀️

Lifting, digging, twisting, reaching - it’s a full body workout whether you planned it or not.

If you’re feeling it in your back, shoulders or knees afterwards, you’re very much not alone.

A few small adjustments (and knowing when to stop for a bit) can make it far more enjoyable - and a lot less uncomfortable the next day.

And for any over-enthusiastic gardening aches - we’re always here if you need us. 😊

Mental health doesn’t just affect the mind — it can affect the body too.

Stress and anxiety are often held physically in the body through muscle tension, shallow breathing, headaches, jaw pain, tight shoulders and ongoing aches that people sometimes don’t even realise are connected.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s a good reminder that small actions really do matter.

A walk outside, proper rest, movement, slowing your breathing down, or simply catching up with someone over a cuppa can all help more than we sometimes think.

And if your body has been carrying stress for a while, don’t ignore that either.

If this post reminds you of someone who’s been under pressure lately, feel free to share it with them 💙

Whilst everyone that joined in are total superstars, you don’t have to run the London Marathon to do something brilliant for your health.

A simple outdoor walk can bring powerful benefits for both body and mind - from improved mobility and circulation to reduced stress, better mood and clearer thinking.

It doesn’t need to be extreme. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to happen.

So whether it’s a stroll round the block, a walk with the dog or some fresh air in your lunch break, every step counts.

Hip or knee pain can affect everything from walking the dog to getting upstairs comfortably.

Osteopathy can help improve movement, reduce tension, support recovery and address the wider causes of discomfort - not just the sore spot itself.

If your hips or knees have been grumbling for a while, it may be time to get them checked.

Today is World Health Day.

It’s often easy to think of health as something we notice only when it’s not quite right.

But it’s also in the small, everyday things - how you move, how you sleep, how your body feels as you go about your day.

If something has been feeling a little “off”, even in a small way, it’s worth paying attention to.

Looking after your health doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes it’s simply about understanding what your body needs - and giving it the support it deserves.
We take the time to understand each person properly, so the care you receive is tailored to you - helping you move more comfortably and get back to what matters day to day.

Did you know that some LGBTQ+ people still feel anxious accessing healthcare? *

For much of history, LGBTQ+ identities were misunderstood, stigmatised, or even treated as medical “conditions.” Some people also carry memories — personal or shared — of being dismissed, judged, or not taken seriously in clinical settings.

Even today, those experiences can affect how comfortable someone feels asking for help. And that matters — because good healthcare starts with trust.

This LGBTQ+ History Month, we’re proud to stand for respectful, inclusive care — where every patient feels heard, understood and supported. 🌈

*In the UK 27 % of LGBTQ+ people said they were worried, anxious or embarrassed about seeking health services, according to the National LGBT Survey (Government Equalities Office) — showing emotional barriers to accessing care.

• Additionally, one in seven LGBT+ people have avoided treatment for fear of discrimination in British healthcare settings.
