We call it a w**d. Nature calls it one of her most generous teachers. 🌼

On Wednesday 16 September we’re gathering for an evening of shamanic drumming and the quiet wisdom of the dandelion.

We’ll begin by sipping dandelion root tea, then let the steady heartbeat of the drum carry us into the heart of autumn, working with the sun, moon and star symbolism of this humble, extraordinary plant, releasing what no longer serves, and opening to inner sight.

The dandelion knows something we forget: how to bloom bright, then let go completely when it’s time. Come and remember it with us. 🌱

I’ve just made two new rattles for the sound spa family 💗 One focused on masculine energy, the other feminine energy. It’s always a personal journey making a rattle or drum.

Both handles are twisted hazel, which reminds us life is not linear. Its crooked growth pattern represents the winding path to truth and the beauty of navigating life’s complexities. In Celtic and ancient mythology, the hazel tree is known as a “Tree of Knowledge.” It’s often used to make dowsing rods or wands.

Jimi seems very drawn to them.

Thank you .energy.alchemy for creating the space for these beautiful rattles to come into the world. They’ll journey with me over the coming months as I step into a learning phase 🔮 exploring Celtic shamanic and voice healing, alongside diving deeper into the science and creativity of plants and nature 🌼🌺

Look forward to sharing the energy of these beautiful rattles and learning from my courses very soon.

So very randomly, I joined a ladies’ cricket team in April this year! 🏏

Thanks to By Julia Cossins when we were running a workshop together earlier this year, she told me the Where Inspiration Blooms pavilion was going to be home to the UK’s first ladies’ cricket team, with their own grounds, right here on our doorstep. (I’d never played cricket before this!)

But I thought, I’m in! Training started in April with Penn Street Hits or Misses CC about 90% of the team had never played before. Everyone was so supportive, and it’s run by some amazing women.

This Monday we played our first team match in our cricket tops! We lost to Chorleywood, but that didn’t matter, it was so fabulous to see so many women enjoying playing a team sport together in the summer evening sun. So good for the soul 💗

Looking forward to more training and sharpening up my bowling skills 🏏👏 I think playing the gong definitely helps with arm strength 💪

Full moon. Half moon. Total eclipse... 🍪🌑

Tonight the real thing arrives: a partial solar eclipse over the Chilterns, ~91% of the Sun tucked away, deepest around 7:12pm. 🌒 Have your colanders and white paper ready, if like me you don’t have the fancy glasses!

Step outside, let the light go soft, and breathe.

Other cookies available. Enjoy 🍪🌒

It’s high summer, and the days are full of long light and can actually become quite busy. This is an invitation to place one small moment of stillness in the diary, waiting quietly for you when September comes.
🌅
Somewhere to return to. An evening, or a day, that belongs to no one but you.
🌅
Here is what we have lined up for September
🌅

The summer is loosening its grip, and before autumn arrives in full, this is your evening to remember yourself. Lie down in the candlelight and let the gongs and singing bowls hold you, as the last warmth of summer still lingers in the air.

This morning on my walk with Jimi, something just off the main path caught my eye 👁️ a small bowl, left by a stranger, with a handwritten note asking passersby to refill it with water for the animals struggling in this heat. 🐾🌳
There’s a kind of magic in the forest that only shows itself to people paying attention, the things left behind, the small kindnesses with no witness intended. Nature has a way of humbling us back into noticing again, and reminding us we’re part of something bigger than our own day.
🌳💗
Thank you to the thoughtful person that made this, I have watering spot in my garden for the animals. There seems to be quite a few frogs even though I’ve no idea where the nearest pond is.
☀️
What’s a small act of kindness you’ve noticed lately, from a stranger, or something you did yourself without expecting anyone to see it?
