Chef Yvonne's A Taste of Hampshire evening popped over the border into Wiltshire this week, so the residents of Abbey Mews could sample all the delicious dishes and (the now reaching notoriety) The Laverstoke arrival cocktail and wonderful Halfpeeny Green Wines. The word must have spread as we had a really excellent turnout, another roaring success! Thanks as ever to all the support crew behind the scenes making it happen :-)

Another day, another brilliant BBQ. This time it was Yvette and Pun who really pulled out the stops and delivered a delicious feast on the tables which Catherine had dressed so beautifully. Much appreciated by all attending :-)

Sutton Manor Independent Living Residents enjoyed an absolutley cracking cheese and wine evening in The Pavillion on Friday.

The night started with diners enjoying a Laverstoke Gin cocktail and canapes, before being treated to a wonderful selection of wines from the Halfpenny Green wine estate, paired with Hampshire chalk stream trout 3 ways, a mouthwatering charcuterie board and delicious local cheeses; all sourced and prepared by fabulous Chef Yvonne.

There was a brilliant atmosphere, great conversation and the feedback has been superlative. 10 out of 10- Chef's kiss!!

Looking forward to tomorrow's Richmonds Arts Society lecture, My Daubs: The Paintings of Winston Churchill by accredited Arts Society lecturer Angela Smith.

William Churchill is best remembered for his political career. However, he was a prolific painter who not only painted in his quiet moments at home but took his brushes with him when he travelled on political business. This lecture examines why, how and when Churchill began painting. We will meet some of the individuals who helped to hone his skills and we will study how painting became a lifelong passion and helped give him peace of mind.

Sounds like a must join!

Residents at Amesbury Abbey we're delighted to welcome, ex West End pro, Jamie Golding, back to to sing for us. His repertoire is vast and his voice is just phemonenal, especially with the fabulous acoustics on the main stairs. A wonderful morning of song, with something for everyone.
