The old saying is prevention is better than cure. The vaccine will protect a child, and prevent them from being very poorly, but unfortunately the cure for an unprotected child is time and caring for a very poorly child, possibly for weeks. Nearly 50% of parents have already booked, and it so simple to book by using the link texted or ringing us.

Please share: We have agreed to give the covid vaccine this autumn as we feel patient choice re date, time and location is a flexibility patients should be offered. But in return we would ask patients to respond to our texts and phone calls offering them an appointment. Anyone who is immunosuppressed or over 75 is strongly urged to book, and can have it with, or separate from their flu vaccine. Please pass on to anyone who you know who needs an appointment.

Today marks the start of , a chance to raise awareness, improve support and help drive research towards better treatments and, one day, hopefully a cure.

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) affects around 12 million people worldwide and is a genetic condition that primarily affects the kidneys, causing numerous fluid-filled cysts to grow. Over time, these cysts can enlarge the kidneys and affect how they function, potentially leading to serious complications, including kidney disease.

PKD can be inherited in different ways. Autosomal dominant PKD (ADPKD) is usually passed down from an affected parent, while autosomal recessive PKD (ARPKD) occurs when a child inherits the altered gene from both parents. In some cases, PKD can also arise from a spontaneous genetic mutation.
