🌸 A little bit of our own family story…
I wanted to share something a little more personal today, because sometimes the best way to explain what I do is to share the results we’ve experienced in our own family.
My little girl Daisy had a habit of sucking her thumb, and at the same time she would use her hair as a sensory comfort, holding it underneath her nose.
It had become a real comfort habit for her, particularly when she was tired, settling down to sleep, bored, hungry, reading, playing anytime really 🤣
So I created one of my Premium Personalised Therapeutic Support Packages specifically for her, including a personalised therapeutic story, recording, journal activities and little things designed around her.
And honestly, I was amazed at how quickly she responded.
💗 Within one week, Daisy had stopped sucking her thumb during the day.
💗 Within two weeks, she had stopped doing it at night to settle herself too
And the really important part?
It’s now been a few months, and she hasn’t gone back to it.
The hair under the nose habit has gone too. 🥰
As a mum, seeing that change first hand has been incredibly special. And as a therapist, it has also reminded me just how powerful it can be when therapeutic support is made completely personal to the child.
Rather than simply telling a child to stop a habit, the package gives them something they can connect with, understand and engage with in their own little world.
Daisy’s experience is one of the reasons I’m so passionate about creating these personalised packages for children.
Sometimes, the little things can make a really big difference.
This is our own family experience, and I’m sharing it with permission from Daisy.
