Cervical screening invites are going digital

Make sure you download the NHS App if you have not already, and turn on your notifications.
If the notification is not read, a text message may be sent, and a letter is still sent as a backup if necessary.

Since September 2025, negative results are sent directly via the NHS App. If the result is not opened in the app within 72 hours, a letter is posted.

Letters for abnormal results are still sent by post for the time being.

If you do not have the NHS App or it is not properly set up, you will still receive your invitations and results by post.
