Hey, Hey !!!
This will be a bit of a long one - but I think it's an important one.
Over time, one thing has become very clear to me: we are often told that healing must start from the top to bottom — that we should begin with the mind, as though that is the only place where connection to ourselves can happen. But after years in this field, as a somatic counsellor with a psychology background and now training to be a yoga teacher, I no longer fully agree with that.
I truly believe we are more than just mind and body. We are also shaped by belief. Some people believe in God, some believe in the universe, and some believe in something else entirely — and that is okay. What matters is not what or who you believe in, but the connection to all three parts of you: mind, body, and belief. Together, they create our essence.
We can go to talking therapy and feel no shift. We can try somatic work and feel better for a while, only to fall back into old habits a week or two later. We can read self-help books, try to manifest, and still end up feeling empty and wondering, “What’s the point?”
I’ve been there too — many times. I’ve doubted myself, lost focus, and struggled to make time for myself. Life can feel heavy, pointless, and overwhelming. But I always come back to my triangle of wholeness, because I know it works. It takes effort, discipline, and the right people around you.
That is exactly why we do what we do! At Herosoma, we want to keep community together, to hold space when things are hard, and to support people in staying accountable to their own practices. We are a trauma-informed practice focused on supporting the essence of who we are.
If this speaks to you and you’d like to explore it further, send me a DM and I’ll be happy to arrange a call to tell you a bit more.
