Courage Counselling

Courage Counselling Counselling sessions - helping with whatever is holding you back e.g. Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, Eating Disorders, OCD, Stress...

We are a team of counsellors and we chose the name Courage Counselling because we wanted to convey how courageous it is to be able to confront your feelings with honesty. Our aim is to help you to sit with these feelings, however overwhelming they may feel, and help you to work through them at a pace that feels safe for you. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your emotions it can be a frightening ti

me. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, weight issues, anger, OCD, eating disorders….these can feel very overwhelming and can make us feel isolated and even perhaps ashamed of those feelings. I’ve learned through personal experience that the way to combat this is by allowing ourselves to be vulnerable – as the great Brené Brown says “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage”

So, we invite you to access your courage and explore your truth. We can’t promise that it will be easy, but we can promise you that it will be worth the journey. Please take a look at our website if you would like further information www.couragecounselling.co.uk

Here's a great post by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy which explains about how hard therapy can be. It's also why I chose the name Courage Counselling for our business - it takes real courage to come to therapy and turn towards difficult stuff. The benefit of therapy is that you don't have to do it alone, we're with you every step of the way. We are a team of 4 therapists working either online or face to face from The Injury Clinic Anlaby. Please see our website www.couragecounselling.co.uk for more information about each of us and how we work.

Counselling can be a daunting thing to start. It can take great courage to be able to turn towards, and explore your feelings. That's why it's really important that you choose a therapist that you feel is the right fit for you. We're a team of four therapists that all have slightly different approaches, and we all offer a free initial telephone consultation so that you we can both make sure that we're the right therapist for you.
If you're thinking about starting therapy, please have a look at our profiles on our website www.couragecounselling.co.uk to find out more.

Some lovely words from Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff, Ph.D.. I regularly recommend her work to clients - she has some great free resources on her website too if you feel drawn to take a look: https://self-compassion.org/self-compassion-practices/

Mindfulness allows us to hold space for our pain so we can respond with warmth and compassion. We can't heal what we can't feel.
