FOCUS are a group of young people that have come together, with the aim of raising awareness of suicide prevention & the needs of young people.

Focus (Focusing On Community & Understanding Suicide), are a group of young people that have came together, with the aim of raising suicide prevention and other issues affecting young people in our community. At Focus, we are non-judgemental and are keen to make contact with young people who are experiencing issues that are impacting upon their lives. We are here to listen to your worries and pro

blems confidentially. People of all ages find it hard to share their feelings with others and often keep everything locked up inside, often creating a sense of hopelessness. Simply talking, and sharing problems, can help. By working together we may find ways of helping and supporting individuals cope better with issues or worries they are facing

It can be hard to take that first step, but we would like to break down those barriers and promote the fact that talking and sharing problems is both helpful and healthy, so whatever your problem, however big or small, you will be made welcome at Focus and listened to with total respect.

We are looking for a compassionate and qualified freelance counsellor to provide support on an as‑needed basis. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, client‑focused, and confident working independently. Wages will be discussed during the selection process.

Requirements:

Relevant counselling qualification or accreditation

Experience providing one‑to‑one support

Strong communication and listening skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

Comfortable working with a range of client needs

Availability for flexible or remote sessions
