One of the best parts of medicine is knowing there’s always so much to learn . I spend hours thinking about new ways to tackle old problems, it keeps me interested . I am VERY interested in rosacea and want to know more about its mechanisms …. It’s always great to try and create holistic sustainable solutions, the work goes on …. I feel with this patient we may have changed the future of her skin. After years of inflammation and rosacea …. 4 years later it’s still calm, hydrated in truth beautiful glowing skin. She also crucially doesn’t have a high risk mole on her back. ALWAYS check the skin. How did we achieve this ?
1) full skin examination : a none- negotiable
2) topical prescriptions
3) gut health
4) protection from UV and pollution SPF and antioxidants
5) skin barrier repair
5) IPL laser
The results speak for themselves . We’re so grateful to the the patient for allowing us to share 🙏🙏

We are always shown ‘ miracle’ before and after photos … but with our ROSACEA RESET ™️ these results are genuine . We use the VISIA photographic system frequently used in trials as it’s same position, same light , same angle . The camera CAN’T lie .
What did we do differently?
⭐️Make the diagnosis; as she had psoriasis it was felt to be… possibly psoriasis… it’s rosacea
⭐️Realise the huge part UV was playing here. Skin was ‘ burning and painful’ in the sun . We aimed to maximise protection
⭐️Gut work ; There was a significant history of gut symptoms. We helped this and the patient described ‘ 100% improvement’ in gut symptoms …
⭐️The right skin care regime that helped repair barrier function . NO antibiotics NO oral retinoids NO laser needed ….. just great skin. As you can imagine the patient couldn’t believe the difference. I am so grateful that she has kindly shared her images to try and help and reassure others . A sincere THANK YOU 🙏🙏

I am concerned about the messaging that we shouldn’t be wearing sun cream ⛔️…. The overwhelming evidence is that by protecting our skin from UV with adequate sun protection we can reduce the incidence of skin cancer. Misinformation is dangerous ⚠️.
Sunshine is good for us, we know the benefits but like any medicine it’s how we take it . Be sensible , remember sunburn is associated with the most serious skin cancer melanoma , especially childhood sunburn .
☀️Apply high factor broad spectrum sun cream regularly if outside in sunshine especially if sweating , swimming etc .
☀️Seek shade in the middle of the day and use protective clothing : hats, UV - protective sunglasses and protective clothing .
☀️Remember 80% of visible ageing is related to external aggressors .. mostly UV. So be careful where you get your information from and protect your precious skin.

☀️skin cancer is the #1 most common cancer in the UK ( Royal Marsden)
☀️The disease is up to 90% preventable by regularly practicing sun safety, making it one of the most avoidable cancers ( melanoma focus survey 2024)
☀️67% of people find the cost of sunscreen high and would use it more if it was 20% cheaper ( melanoma focus survey 2024)
☀️Around 3800 people die from skin cancer each year in the UK- that’s more than Australia ( cancer research UK - combined. Melanoma and non- melanoma skin cancer deaths)
Today marks the start of skin cancer awareness month . Skin cancer is the UK’s most common cancer …. Yet it also one of the most preventable. Regular sunscreen use saves lives, yet it is taxed at 20% as a ‘luxury or cosmetic’.
Sunscreen isn’t cosmetic - it’s critical . That’s why I support Axe The SPF Tax . Sign the petition today at change.org/axethespftax.
