For all those parents who work so hard to get the help for their children. I hope this helps.
Have you heard of the Golden Thread in an EHCP?
It's one of the most important things to check when you receive a draft and one of the most commonly broken.
Every part of your child's plan must connect:
🔍 Need (Section B) → 🎯 Outcome (Section E) → 📋 Provision (Section F) → 📈 Measurable Progress
If any link in that chain is missing or vague, your child may not get the support they're legally entitled to.
Ask yourself:
👉 Does every need in Section B have an outcome in Section E?
👉 Does every outcome have a clear, specific provision in Section F?
👉 Would you be able to measure whether it's working?
If the answer to any of those is no, you have every right to ask for it to be rewritten before the plan is finalised.
We have a Tips for checking a Draft EHCP guide the link will be in the comments below.
