What a wonderful session we had at Ascot! Our residents absolutely loved getting involved in Tai Chi, and it was fantastic to see so many of them engaged, focused and enjoying the experience together. β€οΈ
Tai Chi has its roots in ancient Chinese martial arts and has been practised for hundreds of years. With its gentle, slow and controlled movements, it is a wonderfully low-impact form of exercise that encourages participants to focus on their breathing, movement and balance.
Our session explored movements that can help support flexibility, strength, balance and core stability, while also providing a calming and mindful experience. The gentle aerobic nature of Tai Chi makes it a lovely way to support overall wellbeing, whilst helping our residents relax and enjoy some time together.
Our instructor also shared his wealth of knowledge and fascinating insights, passed down through his own teacher, giving our residents an opportunity to learn about the history and traditions behind the practice.
It was lovely to see everyone participating at their own pace, supporting one another and, most importantly, having fun! πΏ
We can't wait for our next Tai Chi session! π
