Little visitors, big smiles at Lynwood Care Centre 😁

We had such a lovely time today when eight wonderful children from Sunninghill Play Centre came to spend some special moments with our residents. There was plenty going on, from sharing The Snail and the Whale, to singing songs, playing with hoops and balls, and enjoying lots of little chats along the way 💜

One of the sweetest moments was watching the children draw portraits of our residents. The pride on their faces as they showed their artwork, and the joy from our residents as they admired each one, was truly heartwarming

Of course, we couldn’t let them leave without a little treat. The children enjoyed a small lunch and some special stickers to say thank you for being such superstars ⭐️

These visits always mean so much. Bringing different generations together creates such genuine connections, and today was full of those little moments that stay with you 💜

A big thank you to the children and team from Sunninghill Play Centre for such a special visit. We can’t wait to see you again soon

To close our Lynwood Explorer adventure, we hosted a Captain’s Dinner… and it really was something special ⚓

Our residents enjoyed a lovely evening filled with good food, great company and plenty of laughs. There was music playing, conversations flowing, and even a visit from the captain, who spent time chatting and posing for a few photos 💜

It felt like the perfect way to bring everyone together after such a busy and exciting few weeks. A big thank you to all the wonderful guests and visitors who have been part of our journey, you’ve helped make it one to remember 😊

Our Lynwood Explorer stayed in Nigeria for another special day. 💃

We were treated to a wonderful Nigerian dancing session, led by our lovely Elizabeth and joined by Adaobi’s two daughters, who brought so much energy with them. Our residents loved watching, joining in where they could, and enjoying the rhythm of something a little different 💜

It was made even more special as we celebrated Judith’s 80th birthday too. A day full of music, movement and a very important milestone, all shared together 😊

Our final stop on the Lynwood Explorer took us to Nigeria! ✈️

This time, it was all about getting creative as our residents designed their own fabrics, with Judith, Lorena and David helping bring ideas to life. There was lots of concentration, a few laughs, and plenty of colour as each piece started to take shape 💜

It was something a little different, and our residents really enjoyed having the chance to try something new and express themselves in their own way. We’ve still got more to share from Nigeria, so keep an eye out 😊

Our Lynwood Explorer made its next stop… Jamaica!

We spent the day enjoying some Caribbean percussion, with Judith, Stella, Mo and Lorena getting involved and really bringing the rhythm to life. There were smiles all round as everyone joined in, whether that was tapping along or simply soaking up the atmosphere 💜

Our residents also had the chance to try something a little different at lunch, with mango salad, salt fish and chicken pâté sharer plates on the menu. It was lovely seeing everyone give it a go and chat about their favourites 😊

We’ve got plenty more things to come… keep an eye out to see what's next✈️

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

As part of our Italian Week, we turned our pantry into our very own little Taste of Italy café 🇮🇹

With classic Italian music playing in the background, our residents settled in, enjoying a slower pace, a chat with friends, and a moment to really soak it all in. It didn’t take long for the room to feel like a cosy café tucked away somewhere in Italy 🎶

Our antipasto spread went down a treat, with plenty to choose from and a few favourites quickly spotted. We finished things off with fresh coffee and biscotti, which gave everyone the perfect excuse to sit a little longer and keep the conversation going ☕️

It was one of those afternoons where everything just came together, good food, good music, and even better company 💜

Italian Week carried on with a wonderfully creative touch as we spent some time making our own Venetian masks 🎭

Our residents really got stuck in, choosing their colours, adding a bit of sparkle and finishing things off with feathers and their own little personal touches. Each one came out completely different, which made it even more special to see them all together.

It was such a relaxed session, with lots of chatting, a few laughs and plenty of admiring each other’s work along the way. A little taste of Venice, right here in our home 💜

Last week we made our second stop on the Lynwood Explorer… and this time, we found ourselves in beautiful Italy 🇮🇹

Our residents picked up their brushes and painted their way through some truly stunning scenes, from the rolling hills of Tuscany to the colourful villages along the Amalfi Coast. There was plenty of inspiration to go around, with a few nods to Venice and the lakes and mountains too 🎨

Warm colours, sunshine tones, and those little Italian touches brought each canvas to life. It was lovely to see everyone putting their own spin on it, with each painting telling its own story

A big bravo to our talented artists. We can’t wait to see where the Lynwood Explorer takes us next 💜

Our Lynwood Explorer made a stop in Spain, and it certainly brought a lovely Spanish feel into our home 💜

We enjoyed a wonderful flamenco dancing session, with the talented performer keeping everyone entertained from start to finish. Our residents loved watching, with plenty of clapping along, tapping feet and a few getting into the rhythm themselves.

It was such a fun way to experience a little piece of Spain together, and we’re looking forward to our next stop on the journey. 🍝
