We are proud to be once again providing the refreshments and supporting this years Easthampstead Park Cemetery and Crematorium’s annual open air memorial service which will be held on Sunday 6th September.

Attendance is free and seating will be provided. The service starts at 3pm and everyone is welcome to attend with no need to pre-book. Refreshments will be served after the service.

A J Brooke is a long-time member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD).

Since 1905, the NAFD has been the UK’s leading funeral trade association and is dedicated to maintaining the highest professional standards by inspecting all funeral directors prior to membership approval, as well as issuing the industry standard Code of Practice for its members to abide by.

So, when choosing a funeral home, it is important to look for those who are members of the NAFD. This ensures that not only are they regularly inspected, but that they abide by the extensive Code of Practice.

Currently in the UK there is no government regulatory body for the funeral industry. This means that anyone (yes, anyone) can call themselves a funeral home or a funeral directors without having any of the necessary skills or experience. It also means they have not been audited for industry compliance.

Membership of the NAFD is voluntarily paid for by Funeral Directors. What this signifies is that those who are members have willingly volunteered to be inspected by an external body. These checks are regular, rigorous, and thorough. Therefore, the NAFD’s logo is widely acknowledged as the ‘kite mark’ of quality assurance for the funeral industry, and anyone looking for a funeral director should check for NAFD membership before proceeding.

We don’t usually post photos of us whilst conducting a funeral service but last week I lead a service where the family had employed the service’s of a professional photographer to capture the day for them , the photographer very kindly sent me this photo of me awaiting the arrival of the hearse so I thought I’d share it.
It’s always a great honour to be entrusted withsomeone’s funeral service and I wear this uniform with pride.
