It's "Know Your Numbers" Week!

High blood pressure often has no symptoms at all, the only way to know is to get checked. Pop into our surgery or a local pharmacy for a free check, it takes just a couple of minutes and could make a real difference.

For more info check out the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/high-blood-pressure/

Are you active?

Many people struggle to stay active simply because they haven’t found an activity they truly enjoy.

The important thing to remember is that you don’t have to follow what others like; physical activity comes in many forms! 💪

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day - a time to remember the lives lost to overdose and to support everyone affected.

Whether you are struggling with drug use yourself or are worried about someone you care about, you do not have to face it alone.

You can speak confidentially to our team, contact a local drug treatment service directly or use FRANK’s support finder https://www.talktofrank.com/get-help/find-support-near-you.

The FRANK drugs helpline is available on 0300 123 6600.

If you think someone has overdosed or their life may be at risk, call 999 immediately. For urgent medical advice when it is not a life-threatening emergency, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

Please share this post, it may help someone take an important first step.

Very useful information 👇🏻

As children head back to school and we move closer to winter, now is a good time to familiarise ourselves with some of the common illnesses that can cause disruption to children’s time in school during the colder months.

⚠️ Important patient update

Due to the current severe weather, including torrential rain, thunder and lightning, we are experiencing intermittent power cuts at both Ashbourne and Brailsford surgeries.

These outages may affect our phone lines and, importantly, access to our clinical systems. If our clinical system is unavailable, our team may be unable to safely access patient records or action requests until the system is restored.

You can still submit a triage request as normal, but please be aware there may be a delay in our team being able to review and respond to it.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while the weather conditions continue. We will keep you updated if anything changes.

Flu vaccination bookings are starting 💉
Some eligible patients have already received their invitation and are booking their appointments, which is great to see.

This year, some patients will need to complete a short questionnaire before we can send their flu vaccination booking link.

If you receive a text from us with a link to a questionnaire:
✅ Please complete and return it
✅ Once we receive your response, your booking link will follow.

If the questionnaire is not completed, we will not be able to send you a booking link for your flu vaccination.

So, if you are eligible, please keep an eye on your text messages and make sure you respond to any questionnaire we send you.

Thank you for helping us keep the booking process running smoothly.
