I had a moment on Saturday that I'm still thinking about.

A student told me she'd taken a pet first aid class before. Fine, normal. What I like to hear! 👌

Then she said something else...and I actually paused mid-class.

She said she never got to practice anything hands-on. Not once.

I'll let that sit for a second, because it sat with me too 🤔

Do you know if the water your dog just swam in was safe? 😬

Blue-green algae is one of those things that can look totally harmless (sometimes you can barely even see it) but it can kill a dog within hours of exposure.

That's terrifying when you think about how many of us just let our dogs splash into any pond or lake without a second thought.
