A.J.Gascoigne & Son funeral directors are an independent family run business established in 1986. A.J.Gascoigne & Son own & maintain Woodhorn Cemetery

With many years’ experience helping to make every funeral we direct as personal as possible. A.J.Gascoigne & Son will ensure that your loved ones funeral is organised with the utmost dignity and respect. We are competitively priced and operate a clear and open fees policy with no upfront costs and most importantly no additional fees or hidden extras. We are unique in the fact we own and maintain a

private cemetery adjacent to our funeral home at Woodhorn Village which is for the sole use of the families we serve. Our dedicated professional staff offer help, advice and personal support throughout the arranging of the funeral. We offer a 24hr, 7 days a week service covering areas of Northumberland. We also offer Golden charter pre-payment plans with 3 different ones available as well as an independent way plan whereby you can arrange the funeral to your own specification. This is also available as a fixed monthly payment scheme.

Today, August 1st, marks the 40th anniversary of A.J.Gascoigne & Son as you know it. We took over a business from J.R. Lawson on this day in 1986. A lot of changes have happened over those years, which, in some respects, seem like yesterday. We have met, helped, and supported many lovely families going through some of the hardest times in their lives, and we thankfully continue to do so. We have added a couple of photos from the early years, photos of Alan, the cemetery as it was prior to any burials, and a photo of the first cars we purchased. It is strange for us to look back and see how far we have come and what we have achieved. Somewhere, that will be here forever, a place of comfort for the thousands of families that have their loved ones laid to rest in our cemetery. We thank you all for your continued support.

We have just been to Newcastle/Longbenton dog and cat shelter to deliver the collection money from our fathers day coffee morning.

What a delight it was to get to meet one of the beautiful dogs they have currently available to adopt.

Thankyou so much again for your generosity it was greatly received and if anyone would like to donate on a regular basis or even as a one off, you would be welcome to do.

All funds go to supporting every animal within the centre. For vets bills, food, shelter, bedding, heating, electricity and the staff, who work tirelessly to maintain the up keep and find these beautiful animals loving homes.

Would just like to thank everyone who came along to the fathers day coffee morning today.

It was lovely to see you all. 😊
And to remember all the loved ones in heaven.
The memory tree was a hit and all messages have been posted in the letters to heaven box.

With the raffle and donations for tea/coffee and cake we managed to raise a fabulous £147.00 for Longbenton dog and cat shelter.

This wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for you lovely lot.

So thankyou again for your generosity
