Last night I had the pleasure of attending Dr Richard Shepherd’s A Time of Death in Chester.

I was supposed to be at the Stockport show last week but, unfortunately, work got in the way! So I made up for it last night.

Having already read his books, it was fascinating to hear him speak on stage, sharing his experiences and insights into the world of forensic pathology. An incredibly interesting, thought-provoking and entertaining evening.

A lovely bonus was getting the opportunity to meet him afterwards and have a little chat while getting both of my books signed!

A brilliant evening and definitely one for anyone with an interest in the fascinating world of forensic science.

❤️ REMEMBRANCE – WE WILL REMEMBER THEM ❤️

Our Remembrance Day display is now in place at Perry Jones Funeral Services.

As we approach Remembrance Sunday, we take time to reflect on the courage, bravery and sacrifices made by the men and women who fought for our freedom, as well as those who continue to serve today.

It is so important that we never forget the sacrifices made by previous generations, and that we continue to pass their stories on to the next generation.

We will always remember those who gave so much so that we could live in peace and freedom.

NO FAMILY SHOULD HAVE TO FIGHT FOR THE FAREWELL THEIR LOVED ONE DESERVES.

Today, I’ve read a heartbreaking account shared by a local family about their experience when arranging their dad’s funeral. My thoughts are with them. ❤️🙏

No family should have to chase for answers, worry about the care of their loved one, or feel that they have to organise a funeral themselves while navigating the devastating loss of someone they love.

As an independent funeral director, this is exactly why I believe personal care, compassion, communication and attention to detail are so important.

At Perry Jones Funeral Services, you are not just another funeral on a list. You are a family placing your trust in us at one of the most difficult times of your life.

📢 ANOTHER UPDATE FROM PERRY JONES FUNERAL SERVICES 💜

MONDAY 19TH OCTOBER

We’ll be closing between 2:15pm and 3:15pm today while I visit a local school to deliver an assembly about road safety and the importance of staying safe as the nights get darker. 🚸🌙

It’s so important that children understand the dangers that come with darker evenings, from being visible to drivers to staying alert and taking extra care when out and about.

I’m proud to be able to spend time in our local schools, helping to educate, inspire and keep our young people safe. 💜

Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll be back open as usual afterwards.

📢 A LITTLE UPDATE FROM PERRY JONES FUNERAL SERVICES

We’ll be opening an hour later than usual on Monday 19th October, as I’ll be delivering a school assembly about my Kilimanjaro adventure! 💜

I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and hopefully inspiring the children to dream big, believe in themselves and realise that with determination, anything is possible.

After all, sometimes the biggest adventures start with simply believing you can do it, and taking small steps can get you places! ✨

Today at Perry Jones Funeral Services, we had the privilege of supporting a family by providing a space for them to hold a funeral servicd before their loved one begins his final journey home.

We have arranged flights to return him to his homeland of Kenya, and in a few days, we will personally accompany him to Manchester Airport, ensuring he is cared for every step of the way as he takes his final flight home.

At Perry Jones Funeral Services, we believe our role goes far beyond arranging a funeral. It is about supporting families, respecting cultural traditions, and treating every person in our care with dignity, compassion and respect.

Whether it is with us in Ashton or Hyde, or helping a loved one return home to another country, we are here to guide families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
