💔 Devastating news from PAPYRUS

We were deeply saddened to hear that PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Su***de has gone into administration.

For almost 30 years, PAPYRUS has provided vital support, education and su***de prevention services to young people and the families, friends and communities around them.

As a funeral service, we see first hand the devastating impact that su***de can have on families. Losing an organisation dedicated to preventing young su***de is heartbreaking, particularly at a time when demand for mental health and su***de prevention support remains so high.

Su***de remains the biggest killer of under 35s. The Government needs to recognise that su***de prevention is not an optional extra. It is a public health responsibility.

Our thoughts are with the dedicated PAPYRUS staff, volunteers, young people and families who have been affected. The incredible work they have done must not be forgotten.

Please remember: talking can save lives. If you're worried about someone, ask the question, listen without judgement and help them find support.

We have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements of the late Margaret Mather.
Margaret passed away at home on the 23rd August 2026, aged 94 years.

The funeral will take place on Monday 14th September at Dukinfield Crematorium at 2:30pm.

The family have requested family flowers only please. For those wishing to make a donation in Margaret's memory, there will be a donations box upon exiting the crematorium chapel and these will be forwarded to Willow Wood Hospice.

Two of Margaret’s specific wishes were that guests do not wear traditional black funeral attire, but instead dress smartly in a way that reflects her personality.

She would also love for the men attending to wear a splash or spray of cologne or aftershave in her honour. Margaret always noticed and commented when a man was wearing a lovely smell, so this would be a beautiful little touch to remember her by.

And what makes this one extra special is that we’ve won it for the second year running.

To be recognised once is an honour. To be recognised again, honestly means so much.

When I opened Perry Jones Funeral Services, my aim was never to be the biggest funeral director. It was simply to provide families with the kind of care, compassion and personal service that I would want for my own family.

Every person we care for deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect.

So this award isn't just for me — it's for every family who has trusted us, every person we've had the privilege of caring for, and everyone who continues to support our little independent funeral service.

We have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements of the late Mark Porter.
Mark passed away in hospital after a short illness on the 13th August 2026, aged 69 years.

The funeral will be held on Friday 4th September at Dukinfield Crematorium Chapel at 10:30am, followed by interment at Hurst Cemetery at 11:30am.

Family flowers only please. For those wishing to make a donation in Mark's memory, these will be shared between The Christie and Leukemia Care.

4 WEEKS TO GO! 🏔️💜

In just 4 weeks, I’ll be heading off to Tanzania to take on the challenge of Mount Kilimanjaro for Purple Heart Wishes

The training has been tough, the legs have been tired, and there have definitely been moments of wondering what on earth I’ve signed myself up for! 😂

But knowing that every step is helping raise money for such an incredible charity makes it all worthwhile.

We’ve supplied some beautiful natural coffins recently, including willow, bamboo and banana leaf.

Jack passed away in hospital after a short illness on the 25th July 2026, aged 86 years.

The funeral will take place at Dukinfield Crematorium on Tuesday 18th August 2026 at 11:30am.

For those wishing to make a donation in Jack's memory there will be a collection point at the funeral and these will be forwarded to The British Heart Foundation.
