Share Your Voice! Sickle Cell Research Participants Wanted

Are you a young person (13-24) living with sickle cell? Or a parent/caregiver of someone who is? We want to hear about your experiences of healthcare transition from children's to adult services. Taking part involves one online focus group where you'll share your experiences with others in similar situations. You will receive a reimbursement for your time. Your insights will help us create better support and resources for young people living with sickle cell and their families.

Improve Healthcare Transition for Young People Living with Sickle Cell! Professionals & Educators Needed!

We're looking for healthcare professionals and educators to participate in interviews about healthcare transition for young people living with sickle cell.
We want to hear from:
• Healthcare professionals (haematologists, nurses, psychologists, social workers) working with young people living with sickle cell
• Educators (teachers, school counsellors) working with young people living with sickle cell

What's involved: Taking part in one online interview to share your experiences and perspectives on healthcare transition provision, organisational issues, and cultural considerations. Interviews are arranged at a time convenient for you.

Why it matters: Your professional insights will help shape recommendations and resources for supporting young people living with sickle cell through healthcare transition.

We recently delivered an All-Age Carer Awareness Session at Garswood Surgery, working alongside the Practice Manager and Carer Champion to raise awareness of unpaid carers and the support available through St Helens Carers Centre.
Thank you for your commitment to recognising carers and helping to ensure they receive the right support at the right time.

PRACTICE UPDATE

We have been informed that Billinge Medical Practice will be moving from Recreation Drive to this building. They will occupy some of the rooms upstairs and their Practice will be run from up there.
We do not have any details at this time and can only answer questions that are within our scope to answer.
Mainly, your care at Garswood Surgery WILL NOT CHANGE. The services that we offer will not be affected. We will continue to open 8am – 6.30pm and until 8pm on Monday.
Unfortunately, that is all the information that we have currently been given.
If you have any questions, our Practice Manager (Edwina Taylor) will be available this week in the waiting room during the following times
Monday 11am – 12 noon
Tuesday 9am – 10am
Thursday 11am – 12 noon
Friday 11am – 12 noon
We understand that this may be unsettling so please feel free to pop in during the above times and speak to Edwina.
