Eligible Groups for Vaccinations
Available all year
đź’‰Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccines (single dose)
• From age 75
• Adults living in a care home for older adults
• Clinical risk groups for adults aged 64 to 74 years old
Chronic respiratory disease Individuals with a severe lung condition, including those with poorly controlled asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema; bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung fibrosis, pneumoconiosis and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment, including but not limited to patients undergoing chemotherapy leading to immunosuppression, patients undergoing radical radiotherapy, solid organ transplant recipients, bone marrow or stem cell transplant recipients, HIV infection at all stages, multiple myeloma or genetic disorders affecting the immune system.
đź’‰Pneumococcal vaccine
• Infants and young children: Part of the routine childhood immunisation schedule to protect vulnerable developing immune systems.
• Adults aged 65 and older: Recommended as a one-off routine preventive dose.
• People with High-risk individuals (under 65): chronic heart, kidney, liver, or respiratory diseases, diabetes, a missing or poorly functioning spleen, or a weakened immune system.
đź’‰Shingles Vaccine (2doses)
• From 1 September those turning 65 & 70
• Must be vaccinated before 80th Birthday
• Severely immunocompromised adults aged 18 and older are eligible for two doses of the non-live Shingrix vaccine
Autumn Vaccines
đź’‰Covid-19 (from 1st October 2026)
• Those aged 75 or over
• All adults living in a care home for older adults
• Individuals aged 6 months and over with weakened immune systems (please be aware we will not be vaccinating children; our vaccine campaign will be 18 & over)
đź’‰Flu from 1st September 2026
• Pregnant women
• Young children aged 2 & 3 years on 31 August 2026
• At-risk children: Children aged 6 months to under 18 years with specific long-term health conditions
đź’‰Flu Vaccinations from 1st October 2026
• Older adults: Anyone aged 65 years and over.
• Clinical risk groups: Adults aged 18 to 64 with certain long-term health conditions.
• Care settings: Residents in long-stay residential care homes.
• Carers: Main carers for an older or disabled person, or those receiving Carer's Allowance.
• Close contacts: Household or close contacts of people who have weakened immune systems.
