Positive Paws Canine Massage

Positive Paws Canine Massage My name is Helen Chetwynd and I run Positive Paws Canine Massage, a hands-on therapy aiming to impro

Canine massage is a hands on therapy that works on soft tissue and muscular injuries and issues that may appear in your dog as lameness, limping, general stiffness, or simply seeming to be 'old before their time'. These issues can affect a dog's mobility, range of movement and quality of life. Massage works by softening and releasing muscles that are tight and sore, or where there might be trigger

points or ‘knots’ causing pain and discomfort, and helps to ease tightness and tension. Canine massage therapy can also help with orthopaedic issues, such as hip dysplasia or arthritis, reducing swelling and inflammation in over compensating muscles and acting as a natural pain relief movement, as well as with some neurological conditions. Massage is also beneficial to working, performance and sporting dogs, and as a post operative therapy. After training for two years with Natalie Lenton at the renowned Canine Massage Therapy Centre, I gained my Diploma in Canine Massage Therapy which uses Sports, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release techniques. Please contact me if you would like further information either by phone or email and I look forward to helping your dog to an improved quality of life with results you can see and your dog can feel.

Why train with the Canine Conditioning Academy?

The Canine Conditioning Academy has been training Canine Conditioning Coaches for over 15 years, combining current research, clinical experience and practical application.

We also work with the MOD, training personnel in the conditioning of military dogs — bringing the same principles of purposeful, structured conditioning into the working-dog environment.

⭐ START LEARNING BEFORE YOUR PRACTICAL TRAINING

You don't have to wait for the next practical training dates to begin.

⭐ BLENDED LEARNING

⭐ PRESCRIPTIVE EXERCISE — NOT JUST A LIST OF EXERCISES

Knowing *how* to perform an exercise isn't enough.

We teach you to understand:

**WHAT** does this dog need?
**WHY** have I chosen this exercise?
**HOW** should it be performed correctly?
**WHEN** should I progress or change it?

You'll learn to assess the individual dog and develop programmes based on their **posture, movement, core function, strength, proprioception, flexibility and physical demands.**

For therapists, this means being able to use **purposeful, prescriptive exercise** to complement your existing treatment and rehabilitation skills.

For Coaches - coach individuals - teams - teach classes at all life stages Puppies, adults, sporting dogs, seniors and overweight dogs

⭐ 15+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TRAINING COACHES

Our course isn't static.

Canine conditioning continues to develop, and so do we.

Our teaching is continually reviewed and developed in line with **current research and evidence**, combined with extensive clinical and coaching experience. 15 years coaching Canine Conditioning.

From pet dogs and rehabilitation cases to **sporting, working and military dogs**, we teach conditioning for all dog's at all life stages.
