This small order of replacement equipment cost over £2,000.
It's a reminder that keeping our 1,250+ Sandpiper Bags stocked and ready for use across Scotland is a constant task.
Equipment is used, expires and needs replacing, but these bags must always be ready when an emergency happens.
Sandpiper receives no NHS, government or local authority funding. We are entirely funded through donations and fundraising.

What's inside a Sandpiper Bag?
Every Sandpiper bag contains more than 50 pieces of essential, life-saving equipment, enabling volunteer clinicians to provide critical care whenever and wherever it is needed.
Each bag costs over £1,000 to stock. Our commitment does not stop there. Sandpiper pledges to replace used and expired items and continually update equipment to ensure clinicians have what they need to save lives. This costs the charity thousands of pounds every year.
Nothing goes to waste. Expired equipment is used in vital training courses, helping healthcare professionals maintain and develop essential emergency skills.
Sandpiper receives no government funding and no NHS support. Everything we do is made possible through the generosity of donations, fundraising events, and supporters like you.

🌟🌟The Sandpiper Bag🌟🌟 When a volunteer clinician responds, they need to know that the right equipment is there, ready to use.
Inside each bag is a carefully organised collection of medical equipment designed to help clinicians assess, monitor and support patients in those vital first moments of an emergency.
From monitoring devices and diagnostic equipment to dressings, airway items, trauma supplies and other essential consumables, every piece has a role to play.
Because there is so much equipment involved, keeping Sandpiper bags ready means ongoing replacement, servicing, maintenance and restocking.
Some items may be used quickly. Others may sit quietly in the bag until the moment they are needed. But all of them help ensure volunteer responders have reliable equipment close at hand.

The Sandpiper Trust - Supporting Volunteer Clinicians Across Scotland.

Scotland's geography is unique. From island communities to remote glens and rural villages, access to healthcare can present very different challenges depending on where you live.

In the form of our Sandpiper Bag, the Sandpiper Trust provides essential medical equipment used by clinicians and responders serving communities across Scotland.
These volunteers give their time, skills and expertise freely, but the equipment they rely on must be funded, maintained and replaced.
For more than 20 years, The Sandpiper Trust has worked to support those delivering care in rural and remote communities by helping provide the equipment they need.

Over the coming weeks we'll be sharing more about the equipment we fund, the impact of donations and the many ways you can support our work.
