Babywearing NI has supported families for 11 years, helping them carry their babies safely & comfortably. We are a non-profit, voluntary group run by Professional Carrying Consultants. Safe and comfortable carrying brought to you with love and compassion.

Autumn Babywearing - What To Wear & When!

This month we'll be talking rules (what are they and which ones truly matter), guidelines and Autumn Babywearing.

We're going to have a really strong focus on safety & what to wear when babywearing, so book your appointment now!

This is an appointment-based slingmeet. Sling hire is for 1 month.
Below are the time slots. I will post each appointment in the comments.

Please comment below the appointment slot you'd like to book.
Each appointment is approx 20 minutes for Library Hire & Fit Check.

We are inviting a £10 deposit, which cheerfully counts toward your hire fee on the day.

Your deposit secures your appointment.

Appointments are not secured until the deposit is received.

It's a sling social too, there are chairs set out, so come along to learn more, meet other parents and enjoy the craic.

If you're returning a sling only, please drop it off before 10am (no need to book). Otherwise there will be another month's hire fee to pay.

If you're returning a sling and want to hire another, please book a slot.

Come along & hire or try our huge collection of baby slings and carriers.

Want a fit-check with your own carrier? No problem, we can do that too.

Slingmeet Dates 🥰

Thank you so much to everyone who came to the Belfast event last Friday! We were almost fully booked (fab for mid-summer) and it was awesome - thank you so much for coming along.

A few housekeeping points:

- If you're returning a hire, please do so before 10.10am (unless you have a hire appointment, in which case it can be returned at this time).

- If you're hiring, please don't wash the sling/carrier. Spot clean only.

- After your hire, if you'd like a wee quick fit-check for peace of mind, just ask and we can organise a zoom session.

☀️ Top Tips For Newborn Babywearing In Summer ☀️

The sun is out & the sky is blue. Woohoo!!!

There are a few things you can do to stay as comfortable as possible:

8 Top Tips For Staying Safe & Cool Babywearing in Summer
* Drink or feed often, both of you.
* Stay out of the sun if you can, especially at midday.
* Cover extremities with a wide-brimmed hat or parasol.
* Wear light, neutral coloured clothing made from natural fibres as these are the most breathable.
* Remember that a sling is like a layer of clothing, so adjust what you're wearing accordingly, but make sure you're still covered up.
* Use a muslin cloth between you and baby to soak up any excess sweat.
* Babies can become fractious in the heat (as can you!) - watch for these cues, take a break and cool down.
* Use sunblock where appropriate.
