π The Career Change That Changed Everything π
For over 20 years, I worked within the public sector as a paediatric nurse and public health practitioner.
I loved supporting people and helping them through difficult times. Caring for others has always been a huge part of who I am.
But deep down, there was a growing feeling that I wanted to do something different.
Something that allowed me to support people in a different way.
At the time, I had personally experienced the benefits of hypnotherapy and had seen first-hand how powerful it could be.
Then one day, I heard an advert on the radio about training to become a hypnotherapist.
Sometimes life gives you little nudges.
This felt like a big one.
I spent months researching courses, weighing up my options and asking myself whether I was brave enough to start again.
Eventually, I took the leap.
I spent a year training, studying in the evenings, completing assignments and building my portfolio around a full-time job.
There were definitely moments when I questioned myself.
But in December 2017, I qualified as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist.
Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
What I love most is seeing the transformation that happens when people begin to realise they are stronger than they think.
The client who finally books the flight they've been avoiding for years.
The young person who walks into school feeling more confident.
The parent who sleeps through the night for the first time in months.
The person who starts enjoying life again after feeling trapped by anxiety.
Those moments never get old.
People often assume that hypnotherapy is about fixing problems.
For me, it's about helping people rediscover their strengths, build resilience, and create a more positive future.
Every client's journey is different, but they all have one thing in common.
They already have the ability to move forward.
Sometimes they just need a little help finding the way.
And I feel incredibly lucky to be part of that journey.
