Today with the fifteenth solar term, White Dew arrived. Autumn really starts to manifest now. The air begins to hold that particular autumnal quality, cooler evenings, mornings turn crisper. The dew appears where there was none before. This is Metal season: the element of the lungs, the skin, the breath. Metal governs boundaries, discernment, & release.

It invites a moment to ask what you’re still holding that has already served its purpose. Not everything needs to be carried forward into winter. If you’re looking for support in letting go consider some 1:1 acupuncture or one of my upcoming events; an evening retreat “Nourish & Nurture Acupuncture Sound Bath” for the Autumn Equinox or the “Silver Shedding” day retreat both The Henge Shop with Empower and Grow

If I had £150 to spend on myself this autumn I would be coming to the Silver Shedding Day retreat on October 17th in Avebury. It’s going to be an incredible day with two talented practitioners, time and space to consider what YOU want to let go of, moving meditation (Qi Gong), sound, detoxifying acupuncture (or ear seeds) and a seasonal mushroom workshop. Plus seasonal treats, infusions, homemade lunch and a gift. EARLY BIRD PRICE UNTIL 9/9.

Your body isn’t a machine to be fixed, it’s an ecosystem to be tended. For nearly 20 years, I studied & worked with water, earth & energy, how they move & how to protect those natural systems. When I learned acupuncture viewed the body in the same way this wisdom sang to me & led me down the path of becoming a practitioner. I’ve learned that our bodies & health responds the exact same way. Flow over force. Ease over effort. Trust over control. This is especially tender and true for women in their 40s and beyond, when our bodies are asking us to listen more and push less. The path doesn’t always have to be carved sometimes, it simply reveals itself, one step at a time. Today, I’m choosing to step onto it. Will you?

Looking at the 2026 acts through the lens of Chinese 5 Elements. Which one would you be drawn to do? I’m Earth all the way!!

Ultra tiny press needles being placed in my ear. The ear is a microcosm of your body thus the whole person can be treated by using the ear alone. How cool is that? It makes self treatment easier too. I’m treating my carpal tunnel syndrome holistically. Since I was offered a surgery, which I want to avoid, I’ve focused on regular self treatment and seen a 60% improvement in my symptoms. I’m confident I will avoid going under the knife.

Jing Well points are found at the end/beginning of channels on your fingers & toes. They are great for clearing heat and excess. Especially useful for nerve conditions such as numbness and tingling like neuropathy. Classically there were used to revive following in collapse or fainting. They are also very calming and can be used when someone is agitated, manic, or in acute emotional crisis

Clinic hours are reduced in summer, as I like to lean into the joy of the season too! These are all now fully booked. Established patients can book online for September. I’ll also have space for a few new patients come September so get on the schedule if you’ve been thinking about it.

Following on from my last post… the things your acupuncturist recommends might sometimes feel a bit boring.
Acupuncturists aren’t exempt from being human either. I don’t meditate daily. I’ve stayed up dancing till 1am. I even occasionally drink iced drinks or green smoothies.
But when I notice my patterns and keep roughly 80/20 towards Chinese wisdom, my energy and life flow with more ease. 80% of the time I eat well, sleep well, stay warm, connect with nature. These regular “boring” habits do most of the work. The other 20% is open to the rich experiences of life.
Swipe for what that looks like. You don’t have to be perfect at it either and still be embody the Chinese baddie energy!

Personally I find acupuncture and Chinese medicine endlessly fascinating. But at the crux of it they are essentially rather boring about regulation and consistency. Of course I’m being a bit silly and this doesn’t account for your Jing and factors outside of your control.
