Someone recently said to me that āart is extraā.
While a part of me at the time agreed with that and didnāt question it, the next day I woke up with the words percolating in my energy field. It felt like my intuition was guiding me to take a deeper look. I always pay attention when guidance comes to me in what I call āthe in between state of waking and sleepingā. I felt like it was my soul grabbing my attention. In that moment, I knew I had been undervaluing my work again and it was being reflected back at me. I know many other artists that do the same.
This has been a huge lesson for me in this lifetime and a big part of my purpose, is to start truly seeing the value I create. I know this was just reflecting what a part of me already felt within. Recently Iāve created two True Essence artwork commissions and what I have witnessed both times is a beautiful emotional resonance. Deep shifts and remembrance happening right in front of me.
When someone truly tunes into who they truly are, itās like magic.
This work allows me to truly seeing the essence of another soul and bring it onto a canvas. Itās a beautiful connection to their gold print, where they originated before the world got a hold of them so it has the capacity to reach the consciousness in a way that words alone cannot. You could say that words and pictures together are like a portal back to your true self.
It hits them in the heart and they crossed a threshold that they did not even know existed.
And well that part of me that thought āart is extraā. I now see that it is not true.
Can you imagine a world where art didnāt exist? Can you imagine walking into your house and itās just bare walls and furniture with no colour, no design, nobodyās creations, no oneās joy? This world would be boring, mundane, void of emotion and we would probably not live anywhere near as long.
Art is not extra, it is essential.
