Merry Christmas to you all!!!

As I sit here under my “baby” for her nap time (wondering how many more of these I’ll have), I want to say thank you to each and every one of you.

Thank you for supporting my business in whatever way you have, for the likes, messages, recommendations and bookings. It’s a real pleasure to teach hypnobirthing and know that it makes a huge impact on couples and their babies entering the world in the best way possible.

I wish you health and happiness this Christmas and here’s to all the babies expected in 2025 🥂

Three things you won’t hear me say on a hypnobirthing course!

1. “As long as your baby arrives safely that’s all that matters” - No, your experience matters too and YOU being happy is so important.

2. “It’s best to give birth naturally without any drugs or intervention” - the way you want to birth is completely your choice, not mine! As long as you understand your options, what the risks and benefits are and feel comfortable in your decisions then I’ve done my job 👍🏻

3. “Look into my eyes (not around the eyes!)” 😂 I am not going to hypnotise you or put you under a spell. I’ll talk and help you relax, you can close your eyes if you want to.

Was this useful? To hear more about my courses and what kinds of things I’ll be saying the comment “chat” below and I’ll send you a message!!

Want three quick daily birth prep habits to make your birth better??

👉🏻 Firstly follow me for practical, supportive birth tips to prepare yourself for your best birth 💕

1. Calm breathing - this is going to be a game changer during labour, helping you stay calm and letting your body give birth. Simply breathe in slowly through your nose then a longer breath out through your mouth! It needs to practised so it becomes second nature. Just a few minutes each day ⭐️

2. Birth affirmations - read them, say them, write them, believe them!!! I AM capable of giving birth easily. I TRUST my body and my baby. I AM surrounded by people who support my decisions. Spend a few minutes each day doing this ⭐️

3. Visualise your perfect birth! Yes you have permission to do this and it can be so powerful. ⭐️

This can take just ten minutes a day and will be so powerful!!!

Which one habit can you commit to doing each day?? Let me know!! 💓 Hannah xx

Why do I recommend forgetting your due date? 🤯

Well first follow for practical, supportive tips to prepare you for your best birth.

Right, so your due date is a guesstimate of when baby will arrive. And it’s less than 5% likely to be the actual day they are born! It’s more likely to be after that date if you’re a first time mum 🤫

Focusing on this date creates unnecessary stress and anticipation as you approach it. You’ll feel pressure from those around you asking if you’ve had the baby yet - cue oooo not long to go now!! You might feel additional pressure yourself if you’re already worried and nervous about birth. This is going to make it harder to relax and keep the good birth hormones flowing as your baby prepares to arrive.

So what do you do?? Pick your own date that’s a few weeks later than the one you’re given. OR just refer to the month OR even the season!!! You don’t even have to tell anyone the date (I know from experience that people really want you to give them a date 😳 which is why you might want to have an answer ready).

TRUST that your baby will be born at the perfect time (a lovely affirmation) and stop relying on scans/dates/measurements/appointments to confirm that all is well. You KNOW it is.

How are you navigating your due date? Let me know below!! 👇🏻

Somehow it’s 7 years since I first gave birth and every year brings an opportunity to reflect.

How FORTUNATE I am that a colleague mentioned hypnobirthing before I was even pregnant so I could look into it and see if it was for me.

How BLESSED I was that my husband attended a course with me despite being skeptical and feeling that I’d be safest giving birth in a hospital.

How GRATEFUL I am that I took the time to prepare for my birth and empower myself as much as possible.

Now 7 years on I have a positive birth story to share and reflect on. I felt my power as a woman and my strength to achieve great things!!!

If you’re interested in hypnobirthing or need some great birth preparation because you want the best birth possible then give me a 👍🏻 below!

I had two very different births but both used hypnobirthing.

I had one hospital birth and one birth centre birth.

One was slow and steady, the other was incredibly fast and intense!

For one I was quiet and the other I yelled and roared!!

I was calm and using my breathing throughout the first, for the second I didn’t really use the breathing and let my body take over.

One land birth, one water birth.

For both I had a supportive birth partner, belief in myself, the confidence to question what I was told and decline things I didn’t want.

Hypnobirthing doesn’t look a particular way, it can be for any type of birth, whatever happens. It’s about how you feel as a result!!! You deserve to feel great!!

I am so grateful to have known about hypnobirthing before I got swept along with the current narrative around birth. Now I’m grateful to be able to share a more positive view and support other women to prepare for their best birth. Would you like to feel confident, calm and composer ahead of your birth? Let me know how you are feeling now and how you’d like to feel!!
