Hi everyone, after stopping teaching weekly yoga a year ago for work reasons then being diagnosed with Adenomyosis and Endemetriosis recently having surgery, I will be cancelling a return to any planned outdoor classes at Rozelle or Dean Park and honestly, any hatha yoga for now. (Thank you East Ayrshire Council for support π¦π³)
After over ten years of symptoms being dismissed or masked I am so relieved at finally being heard and getting the help I need. Have been attending yoga as a student this past year but my body has not felt right or at home on the yoga mat, not really despite having a great teacher. (Thank you Yogaatstudio9 ) π₯Ήππ»
Twists, turns, bends and even hip opening has made me feel like I have regressed, failed or am forcing my body into places it doesn't want to go. And I was right! Because both conditions cause so much inflammation to reproductive and digestive organs, many of these yoga poses can work against an already inflammed system.
So, when I am ready I would like to learn from the women who have lived experience of these conditions and who have used this to help other women through yoga. And I hope to do the same for others one day too. Am looking forward to understanding this illness more and turning it into a positive to help others. Right now am needing rest. π€π€π€
